If you are talking the whale tail cup, we got one on the Magic 3 weeks ago.  Not all of the bars have them.  The bars on Lido had that one.  The mirror ball one seemed to be available in the theatre, I know the people taking drink orders had them.

Yes that is the one we are looking for. Perfect! She will be so happy. 🙂 Thank you.

  2. In 2015 we were able to find the fin and disco ball souvenir cups. In 2017 they didn't have any. We did get glass shot glasses. We are going in December on the Miracle and my daughter really wants to find another fin cup. Do they even do this anymore? Has anyone seen anything recently?

This might seem like a silly question, but how easy was the ship to navigate for elderly?  We were on a multi-generational cruise over Spring Break, and are hoping to do it, again, in Summer 2020, but my 80+ year old parents have already complained about the layout of the Glory.  And, honestly, I can't blame them.  I find the Fantasy Class easier to get around, but I sure would prefer to try a Dream Class ship.  I just don't want it to be TOO MUCH for the older folks. Glory has so many decks that you can't walk straight through, and you have to think hard about which elevator to use based on your destination.  They couldn't even offer to drop off or collect younger grandchildren from the kid's club, because they couldn't figure out how to get there from our cabins.

I found the Dream harder to navigate than the Fantasy ships. I never felt like I knew where I was going. Got lots of steps in. 😜

I would get a pocket map or keep the app on your phone so that you can navigate. I always forgot my phone in cabin, so would wander around looking for my family. LOL

  4. I tried to zoom in on the picture on the fun shop site but can't read it. :( Sorry. Maybe someone here will know.

Our last cruise hubby purchased a bottle of rum for him and could not believe how big the bottle was. He ended up on the last night giving a bunch to our friends with us. LOL

  5. I also have neck issues (putting off surgery as long as possible!) and I have a memory foam pillow that I always use. I actually cut one in 1/2 and put in a small throw pillow case and then flattened in my suitcase. Worked great.

We just went to Europe for 2 weeks backpacking and could not carry because of weight and space. But I bought this device and I have to say it has really helped my neck issues. I only had to use 1 time during the 2 weeks there. I will now bring that on cruise instead of pillow. I know it looks and seems ridiculous but it has really helped me!

  6. The last couple of years, the Amex-World's Leading Cruise Lines offer of $500/$100 has been made available early in the year then again late in the year. I don't know if that pattern will hold for 2018/2019 but I would not be surprised if it did, in fact, I'm hoping that happens.

That is what I thought. I couldn't remember when we used it on our last cruise but I thought it was earlier in the year. Now we have to decide whether to wait and hope they offer again or eat ramen for months. LOL ;p

  7. Does it seem as if AMEX offers couple times a year? We have the newest deal but we just got back from Europe and my oldest is starting college in August and with all the $$$ going out the door, I would like to wait til later this year or next year to use this (as we never leave a balance on credit cards). We used this deal on our last cruise and would like to use again just need to give the poor pocketbook a break!! ;) We booked our 20th Anniversary cruise for Dec 2019, so we have a while for the deal to come around again.

  8. We had 21 on our first cruise and did early dining. It was great. They had to put us at 2 tables. (This was on Fascination)

On Dream we had 13 and once again did early dining. We prefer sitting down together for dinner since that was the 1 time we were all together. Most of the day kids were gone at clubs and adults were scattered around.

Like klfrodo said if you don't do assigned it will be hard for the times you do want to all sit together.

  9. I kind of hope it was the same people. Because multiple groups of people behaving that badly would really be bad. They were all women that I saw; I don't know about your group.

You reminded me - I had so much good food I forgot to mention I had Pig and Anchor (Guy's BBQ) twice. Duh!! Yep, it was pretty good. Maybe not on the level of good BBQ restaurants at home, but a welcome addition.

Unfortunately our group of bad behaviors included several men. :(

  10. We were on the same cruise. I agree the stewards were overworked. Ours was great but he also said he had 33 rooms. Crazy!! We just had him come once a day and told him whenever worked for him. We are not picky. Usually he did it right after we left for breakfast and that was fine with us. He would ask us throughout the day when we saw him working on other rooms if we needed anything. Super nice guy. Since we had 2 rooms we tipped him beginning and end.

We were also in the Scarlet dining room for early dining and LOVED our wait staff. They were awesome. With our large group of 13, they knew our names by the second night and quickly learned what we liked to drink, eat, etc. I really miss them!! Iounut was the best!! *we also tipped at the end. So worth it!!

I agree about Chris! He was awesome and hope to have him again on another cruise!

Pizza: we did pizza every night and I have to say I felt for those guys. The line would be so long and they normally gave 2 slices, but people would have them pile it up. They made those pizzas as fast as they could, but with so many getting 2-3 pizzas at a time the line would stall. Those guys never stopped rolling and topping dough. They never talked, sat, drank, anything. At 1-2am they were really slammed.

The group you saw at debarkation, wonder if they were part of the group on our deck 6. OMG! The cursing and fighting that happened was crazy. Our friends were in a balcony next to these people and the first couple of days they were fine, but they were also stoned. My friend said they went out on balcony and smelled wacky weed, they couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Happened again next night. Come 3rd day/night no more smelling it and the fighting next door started. They figured must have been them smoking since they probably ran out and then fought daily. We would hear them cursing, banging on door and yelling, "LET ME <insert any string of expletives> IN <insert a couple more here>" This happened many times day and night.

Casino was AWFUL!! The smoke was unbelievable. I hated having to walk through there. We enjoyed walking deck 5 and LOVED Guy's BBQ there. My kids would try to hold their breath and run to the doors.

  11. Just got off the Dream Sunday and we had no issues. You control the temperature in your room. I had to actually turn ours warmer since hubby and I were freezing! I see no need for a fan. Now if you are staying in a balcony room and use door alot, it may be different. We were in an inside cabin.

  12. Thank you for the picture!! We were on her and loved her!

Do you have any recommendations on hotels with free shuttles to port in New Orleans? And do any of the ports have beaches within walking distance so you don't have to do an "excursion"? We are going in January and want beach time.

Our ports were Mahogany Bay, Belize and Cozumel.

Mahogany Bay: we booked Victor Bodden tours. Did the Best of Roatan and LOVED IT!! We had a private bus and driver for our group of 13. He took us anywhere we wanted. It was $25/person. We went to the see the monkeys and sloths at the rescue park. That was $10/person and so worth it. We got to hold sloths, monkeys and parrots. Was the favorite excursion for everyone! After driving and see all of Roatan, which we really enjoyed-even the kids enjoyed, we went to the beach. It was $10 for a beach chair and worth it. There was an awesome reef very close by to snorkel. We all loved it!! We tipped our wonderful driver another $5/person. Our total was $560 for 13 of us to have an awesome day in Roatan!! Can't beat that!

Belize: We had not planned anything before leaving for this port. We took our group and got a group picture at the Belize sign. Then talking to one of the taxis out there, we found a bus that would take us around Belize and to the beach for $10/person. Hubby and I ended up not going since 2 of our kids were not feeling good. But they had a the best time. They went to this private beach that was close by and said it was amazing. They had an obstacle course in water and lots of fun stuff to do. Said the beach was amazing.

Cozumel: Most of our group had been here several times, so we stayed in port at Fat Tuesdays and enjoyed. ;p Did hear people talking about a beautiful beach close by that was a $10/taxi ride. There were plenty of taxis outside the port. You just got in line and waited.

  13. Exactly. I wouldn't even let my pets drink what comes out of the tap. It really is that nasty.

Are you aware of what the tap water in Central Florida tastes and smells like?

YES!!! During Andrew we were in Miami and near the worst areas of damage in Homestead. We filled every container we could but not to drink!! It was used to bathe and flush toilets. That water is so nasty tasting! But we would have used it for drinking water if it came down to it (maybe after boiling it a few times LOL). We were prepared and had already stocked up on water, so we didn't have any problems. Also lucky for us, the National Guard was in a field next to our house so they brought us supplies and the Red Cross brought hot meals once a day. And trust me we never missed the Red Cross truck! That was the highlight of the day for us. ;p

  14. Pay for your Cheers package with a 10% off carnival gc. :D

We don't drink a lot to make the Cheers worth it for us, so we each will bring a bottle of champagne (bringing this stopper to help it last more than a day) and hubby is ordering a bottle of rum for him. I will just get a DOD here and there.
