  1. Hi Keith,

so did you contact them directly? Email?

    Thanks

    James

check on them because several people on trip advisor said that company was bad? I did the one in town and they picked us up to. If you use them post for others know if you liked them. I took all the insurance because of rocks and ash and took pics of the car. It was more than the rental I think but people were posting to get it? The one of the volcano is ready to blow so insurance made since.

  2. we took the car rental in town and they picked us up and drove us two town. We drove the golden triangle then with the waze app. then went south (theres not many roads) toward Selfoss where be had booked a hotel for that night. We headed over toward Vik and black beach there were Turf houses right off the road. When we got to Selfoss that night the only restaurant was coke and hamburger place $50 for 1 coke 1 beer and 2 hamburgers. woke up to drive to Blue Lagoon (we bought tickets online months before to get early spot) bring a old bathing suit to leave and money in for a drink they have lockers. Drove back to Reykjavik you can visit the town then. we did Akureyri too and we did the airplane over iceland was fantastic worth every penny but was exspensive but we saw everything and landed on a airstrip that NASA put up there for practicing the moon walk. The guy had just bought 2 nice planes and it was great once in a lifetime like the helicopter in Alaska or Hawaii. you only go once that was our bonus!

  3. It's a way to up the gratuities! I thought in Florida where the company is based you can't legaly add tips to a bill! It's in Palm Beach County and isn't it in Dade County? I sent a email to the attorney general of Florida with the question? I paid it on my cruise I just got off of and still cash tied the bartenders but now on my other cruises?

  4. Your position in line would not impact when you can leave though. The group goes into the chamber as a whole and leaves as a whole so even if you are first, you do not leave until the last person in the group flies. That being said, you should normally be able to do all of this within an hour's time.

I going in June do you book it ahead of time like the shows on the website? Is there a charge? How often do they offer it on the cruise?

  5. Thinking of a cruise that stops in Labadee. As a Suite guest, I would be able to rent a cabana, but would I be allowed to have my children who will not be in a suite join my wife and I?

Don't do the boat ride over to see the large old oven and the local dancing show? Not really sure if they had enough life vest for all the people they got on the boat there? There wasn't enough seats for everyone. I know there trying but? RCL should do more to help with this because they spent a lot of money to do the excursion for people that don't want to go to the beach and it needs help?

  6. I was reading over the same blog post and it's a little confusing on the pricing. I may be wrong, but the $13 prices listed might be from the Oasis class ships possibly. I had the same initial reservation that if there is $12 cap on the drinks, how can they make all the cocktails $13?? But it does state that prices are little more on the larger class ships. I think this is a great package for those that drink scotch and bourbons for sure. I'm not sure how easy it is to drink your daily average on a port day, but I can definitely put a dent in it on a sea day. Still though, for 2 people that's in the realm of $900+ on drinks. I'm not sure I could do that personally.

they raise the prices because of the all-inclusive packages? one month before they give you a deal on it so take it!

  7. Wouldn't a refundable rate be higher than a nonrefundable rate? I have a quote from my TA that is just the opposite. Also, if you have a refundable rate, can you move the reservation to a different cruise with no charge, except whatever price difference there may be, as we used to be able to do?

I book with Costco travel and no fee until you pay! They have shore excursions there also!

  8. Are they serious with the prices on the beverage packages? I understand the alcohol ones being high, but if you want more than soda for your non-alcoholic drinks, for my family of 3 it's going to be nearly $1000, and only one member of my family drinks soda! Do the prices on these drop as the sail date gets closer, or if they offer some kind of special, even if you've already booked, will they honor it?

They usually give a cheaper price on RCL and celebrity but I love NCL it's a free perk and u pay tips. Princess is offering free now.

  9. We're first time cruisers booked for August on NCL Epic. I know NCL have a daily charge added to your bill to cover gratuities etc (around 16dollars per day I think) However, a friend who cruises on Epic regularly says as UK citizens we can refuse to pay this (apparently its mandatory in USA) Advice welcome

You can get your tips back and give it to them everyday that's what I do. They get all of it that way

  10. It's outrageous. It's like $3500 compared to $8000 to $10000 for an upcoming cruise the 4 of us are looking at. Is the food quality , entertainment, atmosphere really worth the 3 times the price?

Disney your paying for Disney! RCL has dreamworks check it out I just got off the Allure and would take kids on that! You pay for what you get and I would never do a Carnival since they left there ships stranded!

  11. Hi all,

We are about to set sail on our first RCI cruise in a few days and are debating the drink packages. My question is: most of the cocktails (The greats, The Collins, The Old Fashioned appear to be 13.00. So none of these would be included in the drink package?. Or would we have to pay the $1.00 difference? When we purchase is the gratuity added to the price of the drink package or do we pay gratuity based on consumption?

Also, if we purchase the combo with internet, is the use of internet unlimited (I realize its for one device only)?

We are sailing on the Adventure of the Seas.

    Thanks

Just got off the Allure and I always get package ahead of time! They add up and they have raised prices! Tips were included!

  12. A poster on a different board on this website said that Celebrity is having trouble filling their cruise ships. I normally would dismiss these comments, but this poster allegedly works as a TA and says to have solid information. I won't name this poster. But I would like to get your thoughts on this manner.

    Thanks

Not the 2 I just got off of!

  13. I am contemplating trying the NCL getaway next spring break. I love Carnival and would definitely book again for our next vacation but there isn't an itinerary on a ship with the amenities our 12 year old adventure loving, thrill seeking DD would enjoy.

So, has anyone tried NCL or sailed the Getaway specifically? What are your thoughts on freestyle cruising? It seems like a little work to plan and reserve everything. But I may like the freedom too. What about food? We will not book any specialty dining. We will book an inside cabin for 3, which i know is smaller than Carnival so that concerns me a little. We will take the bar package offered on NCL as our "perk" The price for 3 of us with the alcohol package "perk" is only $150 more than we paid this spring break for just 2 adults when adding on Carnival's cheers package, which we did purchase.

Any thoughts, advice or suggestions is welcome.

Love NCL hate Carnival! I've been on the NCL escape 3 times and going again February before it changes ports. Doing the getaway January and the new Bliss 2018. Love the free drinking and restaurants are great! I love Celebrity too. Always do the new ships! There more money but worth it! Always buy drink package ahead of time when it's cheaper.

  14. Makes me wonder if RCI is having a cash crunch.....extra OBC for early payment on Royal, last week they had a sale on beverage packages, internet and some shore excursions on the Celebrity side. I know it is a reach but I do wonder. Our next Royal cruise is still 11 months away so I guess we will have to wait a while.

I just got off the Allure and they always offer cheaper drinking package before u sail and now it includes internet . Great deal and if you book a balcony on Boardwalk free soda package

  15. I've book E1 for 31 March 2019. I've always been loyal to Royal but as soon as I saw this ship I had to book it. I've not done a Western before so that will be different. My friend and I will be coming from Australia so we have also booked a cruise on Symphony of the Seas to make the 28 hour flight worth while!

    Aussie Cruiser

I don't ever do the older smaller ships check there ages! It's worth the extra money to get the new ship!

  16. Agree that you're not going to see the ocean on the I-95 route. In most places, that road is anywhere from 3-10 miles away from the coast.

Unfortunately, not much to look at on the Turnpike route either.... unless you like looking at orange groves between Orlando and Palm Beach.

As far as the Sunpass goes - it will save you a few dollars in tolls - probably enough to pay for itself, but it is not a huge savings for a one-time trip. You can google Florida Turnpike toll rates, and get to the site that will give you the exact rates with and without the Sunpass.

The surpass does save time because there aren't any lines to pay and when the college kids are traveling the lines are long? Some exits you can't pay cash only sunpass only.

  17. My wife and I and our kids are driving from Des Moines, IA on May 12th and 13th to Miami for our cruise on the Vista that leaves on the 14th. We've never driven down, but the airfare was a little too high for us to stomach with taking our children. I've read some threads about parking at the pier and most say to park right at the Miami pier parking. I reserved some parking to what I thought was the pier, website was miamiportparking.com, but it appears this isn't at the pier and is a short shuttle ride, approximately 10 minutes away, and is located at 8300 NW 7th Avenue in Miami. Has anyone parked at this location? It looks like it's called JetPort Park and Ride Center and I want to make sure it's okay before I go leaving our vehicle there for a week. It says there is security on site and they will provide us a shuttle ride to the pier. Just wanting to make sure as my wife might hurt me if something happens to her Tahoe! j/k ;) Thanks in advance.....

Make sure to ask if you leave the keys and they take your car to another location! I pay always at the port $20 a day but u have the keys!
