  1. What is your experience with the temperatures for the Lotus Spa pool and hot tubs? Is the pool generally heated, and are the hot tubs actually 102 degrees or better? I'm looking at a cruise to the Panama Canal in December.

I've been on some ships, not Princess, where they drained the hot tubs every evening and didn't fill them till late morning so they never really got very warm until late afternoon. I also noticed if there were any seas at all, the pools got drained and closed.

Is this typical on the Caribbean Princess too?

  2. Is the hot tub in the adult serenity area usually hot? What are the hours? Do they dump the water every day so they have to reheat each day? How rough do you think it needs to get before they close the area. I'm thinking of taking this cruise to the Mexican Riveria in Jan or Feb of next year. One of my favorite things while cruising is reading and relaxing usually with my feet soaking and enjoying a cool or hot beverage. :)

  3. I'm researching a Mexican Riveria cruise in February of 2017.

    1. Does the Miracle keep the hot tubs hot with temperatures above 100 degrees?

    2. Does the Adult Serenity pool area have designated hours, and is it open in the evening?

I'm wanting a super relaxing cruise where I can read my kindle and soak my feet in a hot tub for a couple of hours in the morning and evening while enjoying a beverage or two. My intention is to not participate in absolutely everything available like I usually do, and it will be my first time on a Carnival Cruise. I've done Holland American and NCL in the past.

Any other useful tidbits would be greatly appreciated too. :)

  4. I agree with the others above. I'm a Portlander, and I think you will be wasting valuable sightseeing time transporting yourself to and from downtown. SeaTac is not close to downtown. I was laughing looking at hotels on hotels.com when they say airport is 12 miles from whatever the hotel. That is not true. It's a 40 minute drive no matter what and that's with no traffic issue whatsoever.

Try a Best Western or something like that around the Space Needle which, I think is considered City Center, but I'm not positive. You need to be prepared to hoof it around, but I think Seattle is a great walking city. You can take light rail from the Space Needle to the Westlake stop. That is the light rail section that was made for the World's Fair back in the day. Kinda cool! Then walk over to Pioneer Square and on down to Pike Place Market. Maybe you want to tour Safeco Field if you're into baseball, but that is a little further south. Totally doable, but you are going spend some time walking.

Keep this in mind, just about everything you would want to see in downtown Seattle is between the Space Needle and Safeco Field which is about a 2.5 mile walk one direction. I can't think of a better way to spend a day in the city. Have Fun!
