  1. ...OK then, you take pictures of the kids while they are on the ropes course. I'm 67 and love to get on the ropes course every time we cruise Carnival Magic. DW, however, won't do it--she takes my picture!

Someone's gotta sacrifice and take on that task! Also won't be jumping into the Blue Hole in Jamaica!

  2. Hi there. There are 4 adults and 3 children (the 14 yr. old will prob be counted as an adult) in our family. When we pay to go in, do they take credit cards or cash only? Trying to figure out how much cash to take on our trip.

Is the dolphin swim in your face? We are opting not to do it bc our 14 yr. old wouldn't be able to take care of the 12 and 9 year old. None of he adults are interested. Don't want it to be a sour point in the day. Hoping that other activities will keep them interested enough.

    Thank you!

  3. By no means am I suggesting this is what you should tip - this is just to tell you what we tipped and why.

We chose to tip the BH guide $10 per person in our group. There were 5 of us and we all jumped so all tolled, it cost us $100 for the 5 of us. Very affordable compared to a lot of other options.

Our guide was Samuel and he made sure we had fun, encouraged us to do jumps that we weren't sure of, but backed off when we said we said we were sure we didn't want to do something, and above all, he kept us safe.

I can't speak to what to tip for the non-jumpers.

Thank you so much for your response! I realize that tipping is very different for everyone but wanted to get an idea.

  4. There is a retractable clothes line in the bathrooms to hang them on.

Chances are there will be a lifeboat above your cove. Have you tried googling the specific room or checked one of the sites that has pictures of specific rooms?

Wasn't aware of the line. Good to know! Yes, but no luck so thought there might be a site that perhaps lists/shows it. Shade is nice but hopefully it won't ruin the view if we are.

  5. Hi folks. I booked a scenic tour from Montego Bay to the Blue Hole, lunch and a beach stop if time allows for our family of 7. Three of us won't be doing any jumping but will be observing our family members at the pool.

What is a decent tip to give to the tour guides at the pool and to our driver?

    Thanks!

  6. Hi folks!

We are in cabin 2423 on the Magic. How can I find out if there's a life boat above the balcony? The reason why I ask is that I've heard that there's lots of shade if there's one above.

How do you folks dry your swim suits? Read in one of the threads that some use clothes pins to secure them on the chairs or lay them on balloons and but not over railings. Thought we weren't allowed to have anything on the balconies at all?

    Thanks!

  7. Thank you all so much for your help! The ease of getting to and from is a huge factor with our group. Not all of us are experienced so snorkeling off the beach will suit us really well also. The. bus stop being right there, icing on the cake!

  8. Look honestly I don't think they know what they are doing when they send out these letters...they sent me one to show up later in the day when I purchased FTTF..hello why do you think I purchased it Carnival??? Rofl ...they don't know just show up...

Exactly! We have FTTF so thought it was bizarre. Our plan is to be in that special line by noon :)

  9. Heritage Cafe is closest...shouldn't be much of a walk at all.

Be aware that the road back to the ship becomes a parking lot in the afternoon...so I would give myself PLENTY of time to get back. If the ship leaves at 4, you MUST be ONBOARD a tender by 3:30!!!

I would leave by 2pm...did I mention traffic comes to an almost complete stop at times?

Oops, actually it leaves at 5 so guess we have a little while longer then.

  10. Hi there. We are doing a morning sting ray excursion and will have the outfit drop us off at the beach for the remainder of the afternoon. We are leaning toward Cemetary beach because of the natural beauty and the opportunity to snorkel. I've been reading all the information that you kind folks have posted :) I understand that there are no facilities there. We'll want to at least eat lunch at some point, probably right after we get dropped off. If we get off at the restaurant which is closest to Cemetary (don't know the name), what is the hike like to the beach? We have elderly parents who are fairly active (76 & 80) who will be with us.

Also, what time would we have to leave to catch the bus back if our ship's leaving at 4?

Thank you so much for your help!

  11. We are leaving on the Magic on 7/5 so inquired about the bottled water policy and looks like it applies to cruises leaving on 7/9 or after.

Several of us will have carry on bags. Are we allowed to put the waters in there or in the luggage?

    Thank you!
