none- it is all "banquet prepared" food. plated in masses and then brought to the table. nothing is cooked to order. if you order the "steak house" selections they are cooked to order but by the banquet kitchen and they microwave (even good meat) it was terrible!!!! Just spend the $$$and go to the steakhouse instead. Way better!!!!
Just back from a 7 day on carnival-
-
experienced both-
two completely different animals!
Hawaii is more of a hotel on the water with way more land time and less ship time. Taking you to four islands easily.
Alaska has incredible sights only seen from a ship.
Alaska ship is more traditional "cruising" with casino on board and great service. POA has no casino and because it is a US ship, staff is not as service based.
I's a personal choice about what is important to you on this particular vacation.
whichever you do- have a blast!!!

any suggestions based on experience for a safe qualified driver/guide in Montego Bay? contact info?
We are looking for a personable driver/guide to take us where the wind blows for the day. Don't like to do large group/organized tours. We prefer just to go...... for the day. just the two of us, mid 50's.
we will be there 4/4
thanks!

I just read that there was a policy change and no coke is allowed. Doesn't NCL allow one 12 pack to be brought on as carry on? am I missing something here?

once you go suite- you never go back!

what a great thread! thought I was actually nuts. Is there a cure? husband says Ive lost it.
Caribbean in 2 weeks, then hawaii in November, Panama in spring next year followed by a B2B Scandinavian and TA/ 28 days- a few months later. and I'm still itching! $$ finally received from being hit by a car and I want to spend it all on travel. Someone please tell me that's ok!
We have done 5-6 cruises over our 25 year marriage, but now, I want to go go go.
We had saved for years for our "dream" cruise (we had booked an expensive suite) and then I was hit and I had to go on that cruise in a wheelchair, I felt so robbed!!!!!! We hadn't bought insurance so it was go in a wheelchair or loose all we paid. I think it really effected me. and now- I can't stop booking.

same ship
same ports
and even.........
exact same cabin!
luv it

we booked directly thru carnival at full payment due (I think it was 58 days ahead)
I kept watching FTTF because it was sold out and I was hoping they would release. I called carnival at 32 days out to ask about a wait list for FTTF. No such luck. Suites get the early boarding included so I asked about the cost to upgrade to a suite.
Low and behold- the suite were cheaper than the balcony so they moved us, refunded us the difference (YES to our credit card no OBC) and we get the early boarding. I always thought no changes were allowed after final payment, but I was wrong. You can always "upgrade" your cabin class anytime even if the upgrade is actually cheaper!

Too true! That is what happens when you aren't loyal to one line- and you are over 50!
We sail carnival in 30 days, our b2b on NCL isn't until next year.
-
bummer- this is almost a make or break for me. totally assumed they would be in suites...... (cry cry)
anyone know if I can bring a 4 cup mini with me? is it allowed??
-
I'm watching the replies. great question!
-
buy FTTF if you can!!!! So worth every penny!
board anytime.

Sounds like a rollover is a yes from most answers I'm reading.
we have a 10 day leg and then a 19 day. both have same cruise credit so Id like to even it out the entire time. hope we can do it. if we can't maybe we can get a carnival gift card at the end of first leg and use it on second.
thanks for all the answers.

I have watched several youtube and have not seen any. can anyone confirm if coffee makers are in the ocean suites?
-
If you don't use all of your on board credits in the first leg of a b2b can you roll it and use it on the 2nd leg of your b2b??
-
aft balcony. anyone know if magnets will work?
-
we have a rear corner with separate master and it was pricy. wondering if the thermal day passes are included?
-
just saw another post re a different change to their itinerary- if you took the insurance, you can file a claim and get additional $$$. Didn't believe it till I read it myself- yes, an itinerary change qualifies for insurance $$$. Who knew????

Thanks all! If you are on a ship with a door sign that says captain's quarters, knock and say hello! Ill be on the other side.

I certainly hope some of the lines are monitoring this chain!!!!!
Cabin (location, size, etc). We spend lots of time there reconnecting, communicating and "just being" with each other. There is never enough "us" time and it is something money can't buy. (keep in mind we are not newlyweds, almost 25 years married)
Service. A very big issue. to really enjoy your vacation, you need to feel important.
Itinerary. Experiencing new places and learning new things brings joy and excitement.
I'm surprised at the number of food comments. Maybe I'm not so picky. That one is way down on my list.
And cleanliness for me goes without saying.

Showf- You must be a detective! How smart! I never would have thought of that!

Just booked a fall 2019 sailing and wondering if a dry dock will happen before then. I have been watching for announcements without any news.
