The Duty Free store isn't all that great. Bought two bottles of normally expensive liquor for $20 each. Two days after we got home in FL went to a grocery and they had the same liquor also on "special" for $22 each...DOH.
So a sale is a sale and there must not be much duty on a bottle of booze after all?
There are a ton of great ideas on this topic.:) Thanks.

I don't think I'll ever get that desperate but my daughter told me they actually sell small concealable bags of booze at Total Wine stores. Another friend figured out some way of replacing wine with Vodka in a bottle and taking it on board. Whatever. Booze costs the same as a restaurant on Mainland.
The last cruise I looked to the daily drink specials BOGO. 6 bottle Bucket of beer the 6th was free and you took it back to your room or just carried it around with you. Buy the Wine bottle at dinner and have it recorked for free and they will get that bottle no matter which restaurant you use until it's gone. Works great for us as my wife likes wine and I'm happy with a beer so a $20 bottle of wine lasts 3 days.
I never did figure out the cost of the mini bar in room fridge stuff? Never asked. Never used it.
Signing up for another future cruise is kind of a no brainer as it forgives $150 of your tab while costing $250 off next cruise. I got another $200 coupon booking another ************ so I'll get that much off our next room tab or tips. Some day we'll go for just the cost of the drinks and tips?
How do you pay for your cruise?

We are retired so time doesn't matter on how long it takes to get anywhere. That is a big deal. Being able to use a slow enjoyable ship instead of a fast irritating airship is taking about the same amount of cash every two years and enjoying the traveling part for once.
We have family all over so once we get somewhere the living is pretty cheap also keeping the cost down. We can also take advantage of relocation ships making two one way trips out of it. Two separate vacations instead of one.
Every time we spend 4-6 weeks in UK it costs about $4000 no matter how you travel. So we only do that once every two years.
