  1. Two  on AMA and looking for a different line because we felt the food at dinner was subpar. breakfast and lunch were good to very good.  I know it is subjective but we were a group of six and it got to be laughable with the fish names and the cheap cuts of beef. One cruise was before Covid. Afterwards, I wrote a detailed letter to management about our experience. The owner wrote back saying that most guests think the food is wonderful. I’ve been reading reviews and most guests agree with us! Looking at Seine cruises Scenic, Uniworld, Tauck and Riverside in hopes the food will be better.

  2. I just booked our business class tickets Lufthansa and paid the same price as  2019. We don’t live in hub city, so for some reason AMA never has the flights we want and has never had a lower price. I wish we could book aus with them.

  3. Great review, thanks for posting. We were on a Rhine cruise with AMA pre covid. Agree that the food was ok and not very seasoned. It was actually the only thing that disappointed us. I even complained in the survey they send after about it. The letter I received back didn't promise anything and actually made me feel bad that I complained (like I was the only one).

Was hoping that the food would have improved, but I guess that is not the case.

We are still going to try again with the Magna on the Danube in the fall.

  4. Had this problem too. I think it is an issue of where your cruise ends. If in smaller town/city, then you need to take connecting flight to larger hub city, like Paris, Frankfort, etc. Those flight times are mid morning usually. If you could, stay a day or so later, tour the large city and fly out at better time.

  5. We are in US. In a quandary here. Moved our Danube cruise from last October 2020 to first week of June 2021. Final payment coming up next week.

I really don't think cruising will start In early June (not enough vaccinated, lockdowns, new variants, etc). Didn't purchase the Travel Waiver Plus, but have trip insurance. We can either cancel (but lose deposit plus future cruise benefit purchased in 2019. Make final payment and if they cancel then get 115% fcc but they keep our money longer, or rebook and kick the can down the road!) We are a family group with 4 cabins. All but one couple have gotten both vaccines. Main hang up is what will cruising look like and will we be able to do/see all as before, will it be worth the new prices we are seeing?

    Any suggestions?

  6. Anybody have any experience with their future cruise booking?

We cruised last July. Purchased the future cruise booking benefit (deposit plus 5% off). Booked a cruise for Oct 2020.

So my TA says if we cancel, we lose $200 each deposit. If we rebook, they will transfer funds to new cruise, but the price may be higher.

Either way it sounds like we lose the FCC. I'm not happy about this. We should be able to reuse it on a future cruise.

    Anyone have this situation?

  7. AMA offers laundry services( no dry cleaning) for a fee, per piece. They did not have an option by the bag last year On the Kristina. But the prices were very reasonable, and we left it on our bed in the morning and it was returned by the afternoon or evening at the latest. We were very pleased and used it everyday.
