A private car service might be worth the price  or stay in FLL then take  a service in the morning to the port

FLL hotels are usually cheaper than Miami  IME

Awesome! Thank you so much. I didn't know if it made more sense to stay in Miami the night before just in case traffic is terrible or who knows what happens in the 30min drive

So does this actually mean that I don’t need that exemption I submitted for my 1yo daughter now? No more waiting on pins and needles wondering if we’re going to cruise in 5 weeks? I can finally tell my oldest kiddo that we’re going on a cruise without fear that we will be denied due to no exemption? Just double checking I’ve read this correctly. TIA!

This is the way I'm reading it.....This would be a wonderful relief here as well, 2+4 year old

  3. Hello all,

I'll be traveling with my aunt, my MIL, wifey and our two kids(2+4yrs old). We are landing in FLL as it's much cheaper than landing in Miami. However, not sure how to get from the FLL airport to Miami airport or to a miami hotel we have yet to book.

Anyone have any experiences? I recall doing the tri-rail years ago, but that was pre-kids. That whole process of getting to the train,,,,then disembarking train to get to miami airport would probably be a nightmare with kiddos.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Thank you so much to everyone. I was almost certain everyone would pick Mardi Gras, as it's the newest ship. Definitely surprised there. I think we will go with the consensus and try out the ABC route #1 on the Horizon.

Honestly having been on 4 cruises, I have not been THAT impressed with the locations I've been to (Cozumel, Grand Turk, Nassau, Falmouth(Jamaica), and Grand Cayman. They all seemed to blend together mostly. We usually do tours though and swimming with dolphins once.

We will have a 2yr+4yr old with us at the time, so excursions may be hard to do. We are excited either way for our first family cruise :).

  5. Options below. Not familiar with most of these destinations.

    Carnival Horizon:

    8 days - Southern Caribbean - Miami >>(Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire) April 30th-May 8th --

    8 days - Southern Caribbean - Miami >>(Curacao, Aruba, Amber Cove, La Romana) May 14th-May 22nd --

    6 days - Western Caribbean - Miami >>(Cozumel, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman) April 24th-April 30th --

    Carnival Mardi Gras:

7 days - Western Caribbean - Port Canaveral >>(Cozumel, Mahogany Bay, Costa Maya) April 30th-May 7th

7 days - Eastern Caribbean - Port Canaveral >>(Grand Turk, San Juan, Amber Cove) April 23rd-April 30th --

  6. Hello all,

I/we haven't been on a cruise in about 4 years now. Since then we've had two children (3yr+1yr). We were thinking of booking a cruise on the Mardi Gras in April/May of 2022. We are both vax'd but not sure when the kids will get the greenlight on that front. Most signs point to September/later fall for 2+.

My question is, would you book now if it were you for a trip not knowing if the kids would be able to go? Surely the vaccine for them will be available before March 😮

Thanks for any advice/input in advance!

  7. Crap, sorry all. Yeah we are bringing ID+Passport+Original Marriage License. Not birth Certificate. --Passport is still good for her, for around 6 more years.

    Cruise Documents

Q: Does the name on my reservation need to match the name on my passport?s.gifA: Yes. It is important that the name on your reservation be exactly as it is stated on your passport or other official proof of nationality. If your name has changed since your document was issued (e.g., marriage or divorce), it is required that you update the document with the new name or provide an official supporting document (e.g., a state, county or province issued marriage license, divorce decree or legal name change document) of the name change. All documents must be the original or a notarized copy. Additionally, if you are using an identification (e.g., driver's license) and a citizenship document ( e.g., birth certificate), then BOTH documents must match the name on your reservation. Otherwise, it may result in delay or possible denial of boarding.

  8. Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has ever used their marriage license+ID instead of passport? ---Just married so my wife's passport is "out of date". Just wondering how smooth this will be as I'm hoping for no issues. On their website it says if there was a name change recently just bring the marriage license and your ID. So hopefully it will be easy p-z

  9. Hello all,

Forgive my stupidity. I've only cruised on Carnival Cruises in the past. When previously doing My time dining, I just showed up whenever. At the "free" restaurants on board. According to this e-mail I got.

"Thanks for signing up for My Time Dining, the flexible and easy way to plan your dinner schedule throughout your cruise. Make sure you log on and select your dinner time for every night of the cruise."

So....I don't actually have my time, I have to select it ahead of time???
