  1. Thank you for all the time and information you put in your reviews! The photos are wonderful and your narrating skills are excellent. Like others here I have been following you for years. Sakari is certainly a beautiful young lady and so talented! You are a great mom:)

We haven't been able to cruise the past 2 years due to caring for my ailing mother. So now I live vicariously through your reviews. Can't wait for your the spring break cruise. The family drama with the DD is quite entertaining! I hope your recovery continues swiftly so you can enjoy the Oasis!!!

  2. We were there in December 2017. At that time my DH couldn't walk very far. He took his scooter on the cruise. My brother and I were going to Stone Island on our own and my DH wouldn't be able to walk that distance. While we were gone he decided to go on shore with his scooter. He was able to travel off the ship and to the terminal. Although there is a shuttle, they let him go on his own. From what others have said, it sounds like they have accessible shuttles too.

He was able to navigate following the blue line into town. Yes the sidewalks can be uneven and he had to go around a couple of curbs but there was nothing that prevented him from proceeding on his own. Good luck and smooth sailings!

  3. We did this excursion in December 2015. The water was cool for snorkeling but not uncomfortable. They also had a couple kayaks to paddle around. The walk to the falls was too steep for my senior mom to tackle. I was 59 at the time and had no problems. It was a beautiful walk! As Tioga said above, Yelapa offers a tropical stroll through the quaint village. The beach had several shops and a restaurant/bar for refreshments. We were very satisfied with the excursion and highly recommended. If you do the cruise again in the future, Las Caletas is a wonderful excursion!

  4. Everyone is different. As others have mentioned, you have to start treatment before the cruise. Once you are sick, nothing works, at least for most. My only guarantee is the transdermal patch (behind the ear). This requires a prescription. It only lasts 3-4 days so you need to take extra patches with you. If it is really rocking for an extended time, I also go for ginger options and green apples. Best of luck for your friends!!

Tucson is our 2nd home. We r insurance adjusters and handle a lot of hail claims down there. It has been crazy there the past 3-4 years.

You will love PV. We have a beach home in Rocky Point and the scenery is very similar in Cabos. Well except for the natural bridge. I wasn't impressed with Mazatlan. I think we'll try Stone Island this time.

    What date are you going?

  6. I can't answer your question but I'm subscribing to your thread:D We are also sailing the Ruby on December 9. On our 2015 cruise we did the Yelpa and Banderos Bay tour in PV. Beautiful! Appx 40 people in our group. You begin with snorkeling and kayaking at Mahajuitas Beach. We were only there 45-60 minutes (definitely felt rushed). Then a tasty lunch on board the catamaran.

We were dropped off on the south side of Yelpa and guided on a walk to a waterfall. Very peaceful and beautiful. You hike around and thru the quaint village of Yelpa. Then on to the beach with restaurant/bar, lounge chairs and umbrellas. I'm going to try to post a few pics. Anxious to hear other experiences!

We did city tours at the other 2 ports....It will be all beaches next time;)

  7. When looking at room layouts for interior and OV, it appears the cabins only have 1 drop down bunk. I know I've read that some ships have a cot they place between the 2 lower beds to make the "4th" bed. Is this the case with the Jewel or do they have 2 drop down bunks?

  8. I have to add my thanks for your reviews. I think I have read them all over the past year! I've been on 2 cruises in the past 6 months. I attempted to photograph everything so I could post reviews. I took pictures of maybe 5 meals, and failed in my attempts to photograph all of the venues. I still intended to write reviews, but......

Well, the 1st cruise was in December and with the holidays and medical reasons with DH, I never got around to it. I did write a review under the "review" section for that cruise. I managed a "quick" review (1 post-no pics) for the 2nd cruise. I just never found the time for a full review. I certainly admire your dedication and desire to both educate and entertain us:D

Finally, I'm sad to hear about your eye problems. I didn't read what the problem was. Can u share? I am also hoping and praying for a successful outcome.

Thanks again and I look forward to your next cruise.

  9. When I booked our Inspiration cruise there was a place to notify them of my DH's b-day. I also ordered the room decorations and small cake (yummy!) On his b-day he received a card from carnival and a card from our room steward, Manny. The card from Manny included $50 spa gift card, $25 off a bottle of wine card, and a free photo gift card. Then when we purchased some photos and redeemed that gift, they gave us a free photo book on shutterfly! I was pleasantly surprised by the gifts. It was our 1st ever Carnival cruise.

  10. Thank you for this! I'm trying to decide between the Imagination and the Inspiration for a post Blizzcon cruise in November..this is very helpful!

Good luck with your decision. I'm certain you'll have a great cruise whichever choice you choose;)

    Thanks for the Fun Times!

    You're welcome:)

Thanks so much. We are on the Imagination in August so this gives me some idea of what to expect. Looks fun!

You're welcome. Have a wonderful cruise;)

  11. Great cruise for the money. Enjoyed our CC meet& greet! It's nice to run into familiar faces throughout the cruise:)

Our cabin steward Manny on deck 5 always made sure we had everything we needed. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Our favorite bar was the Violin Bar. Jodannel was our favorite bartender and quickly learned our preferences.

We had any time dining in the Mardis Gras MDR. We went there the first and second evenings. Food was always served cold and lacking flavor. We found the buffet food a better option and did not go back to the MDR. Guys burgers are fantastic! The made to order omelets poolside were my favorite for breakfast. We only made it to the Taste Bar on the last night. Delicious! Wish we would have gone every night. I appreciate the various "included" options for dining.

Studio VIP production show (inspired by Studio 54) - poor information on where and when us "non-VIPs" we're allowed to enter or sit for the . Had we known us lowly class passengers would be left standing at the door for 30 minutes, allowed entrance 5 minutes before Showtime, for an outdated performance, we would have passed. Despite that experience we found plenty of entertainment elsewhere. Comedians were great fun. Magician was boring. Enjoined The Rocking Dead band evenings by the Violins bar. Also attended some trivia.

We utilized wheelchair assistance for 2 in our party. It appears they have limited wheelchairs and personnel for embark and debark so the process was slow. This wasn't an issue for us, just don't except expedited service. The staff that assisted us were very attentive and informative.

All in all it was a great cruise. Only 2 complaints on a 4 night cruise is a success in my book! We would definitely recommend this cruise and I'm certain we will be taking this cruise again.

PS: I will be posting the fun times later today for those eager to see updated schedules

  12. No. Only currently available on the Breeze, Freedom, Glory, and Sunshine.

Per John Heald on 1/27 when asked about rollout to other ships: "Not yet mate. I will post as soon a s the beards tell me of their plans. Cheers and hope all is well"

Boo..I was hoping it came with the 2.0 upgrades:rolleyes: But thanks RDPDGX for the quick response! Have a fabulous tax day cruise. I will be writing a large check that day so no cruise for me in April:(
