Thank you for this amazing list! I have first-time cruiser friends that will be sailing to Alaska on the Solstice and this is the info I was looking for. :D
-
WOW, that is an incredible list!! Thank you :D
-
Thank you Terry for posting these great pictures and all the info. I have friends that will be sailing on the Solstice to Alaska for their 30th wedding anniversary. This is their first cruise and I know your pics will get them even more excited.
-
Maybe you can post it on the All things Valor thread if there is one.
Good idea, I'll search for one. :)
-
This is the GREAT thing about these boards....sharing info and collaboration of input from peoples experiences. It is SO NICE that you share your "cheat sheets" with people. This kind of sharing of info is what got me reading CC years ago and sticking with it :)
CC is the place where I got all my info for our first cruise and everyone was so helpful. I believe in paying it forward so any cruising info I have gathered I always share on CC. :)

Thank you soooo much, Janice! I'm going to print your Valor and Breeze info and get them laminated back-to-back.
I noticed that you were on the Ruby Princess in 11/09. That was a Med or TA cruise, wasn't it? We were on the Carnival Dream in 10/09 and docked next to the Ruby Princess in Venice - beautiful ship!
My pleasure! Just make sure before you print out the Breeze one you fix the mistakes I made on it. Jimmy's C-side BBQ and the Serenity Deck, as both are free. And the Punchliner's Brunch is not in Cucina del Capitano.
And this is the itinerary that we did on the Valor...Grand Caymans, Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel. If you are doing the same itinerary, I have a great list for private excursions if you'd like it.
And our Ruby cruise was a 10 night cruise to the Caribbean and it was wonderful. And you're right, it is a very beautiful ship.

I just wanted to add that the Serenity Deck is free as well.
Thank you for catching this one. I was thinking about HAL, where they do charge. My bad. :o

Stanford's Girl...
Great info, Thanks.
Is that something that you found online somewhere? I'd like to save the same list for the Imagination.
Sadly, it's not something I have been able to find online. So I just do it myself by going through the deck plans, deck by deck, from stern to aft.

I print one of these for every ship we sail on and post it on the back of my cabin door. That way as I am leaving, I can see at a glance which deck I need to go to. I usually enlarge mine to make it easier to read. I made this one for a friend but thought my fellow CC members might enjoy it to. :D

LOL Thanks! Except I took a better picture of Janice than she did of me LOL
It must have been the camera!! :p LOL
-
Wow, you could actually shave your legs without having to put your leg on the toilet seat outside the shower curtain!!
-
And all this time I thought I was Cpt. McC's favorite! Just another fickle man! :p
I think he might have a different favorite for every cruise. ;) hehe

For those of you who will be buying booze to take home with you' date=' buy it in St. Thomas as the prices are much better there than on the ship and they have more variety. We bought ours at A.H. Rise (?) on the main street and they boxed and delivered it to the ship for free.[/color']
An example is their price for Absolut Vodka was 3 liters of any flavors for $27.00 and the ships price was 2 liters for $24.95. Also a liter of Grand Marnier was $27.95 there as compared to $34.95 on the ship. :D
If your wondering how to get your booze home, I use a product called Platypus Containers and they work great. I bought 4 of the 1 liter sizes a few years ago, as that is the size of most bottles I bring back with me.
They won't break, leak, change the flavor of what you put in them, and they weigh 80% less than a bottle does. They are made for backpackers to carry water in but they work great for getting your booze home too. They stand up so they are very easy to fill.
I bought mine at REI for $7.95 but you can buy them through their website or find a dealer near you on it too. And don't bother to buy the push-pull cap as you don't need it. It is also good for bringing your alcohol on the ship too. ;)
I pack mine in my luggage I send through and I put them in a ziploc bag just to be sure. I have used them the last 6 cruises and have never had a problem with them. :D
Here's the link to them:

Captain McCharming is the absolute best!!! :D :D :D

Ziggy feel better and thanks for all the hard work. I was looking at the menus and I did not see lobster tail on any of them. Did they have that on any of the menus or are my eyes just going bad with old age? HAHA
I haven't looked at the menu's yet but I do know that lobster & prawns were served on the second formal night. It was so good that I had 2 of them. LOL :D

I caught the cold/cough bug 10 days before we left and thought I had gotten rid of it. Unfortunately I also came home with round 2 and it will take me a little longer to get my review done. :(
I know as soon as Ziggy is feeling better she will be posting the dinner menu's for all 10 days, so keep checking back for them. :D

Brrrrrrrrrr, we're back home in cold Oregon!! Definitely a big change from the beautiful, hot, sunny weather we experienced for the last 11 nights.
The cruise was outstanding and I'm going to start my review tomorrow while doing the never ending dirty laundry we brought home with us. Both of us did very well with our packing and hubby only came home with 1 clean shirt and I came home with 3.
Thank you to everyone for all your kind words to Ziggy and I. We enjoyed answering your questions and we hope that the info will help all of you sailing on the Ruby in the future. She truly is a beautiful ship with a 1st class crew and staff.
Once I get my review done, I will post the link to it here for you. :D
Nighty night and sweet dreams,
Janice
