Is the ship overnight in Sydney?  If so and there is an evening performance at Symphony Hall at the Opera House ( which is actually larger than the opera venue) try and see if you can get tickets.  The acoustics were unbelievable and a once in a lifetime experience. 

If you are interested there is a performance of “ madam butterfly”. Open air on Sydney Harbour.  Just google Sydney Harbour performance of Madam Butterfly.  I am not sure if you are staying on board but it is a 20 minute walk through the Botanical gardens - easy to locate.   It is worthwhile the effort.  The backdrop is the Bridge and Opera House.have been many times - dress warmly and wear flat shoes.  Hope you make it.   Wendy 

I did the same cruise last year at that time. Froze to death in Dunedin it only got to 13 degrees.

Went swimming in mt. Manganui it was beautiful and warm.

so take something warm to wear

just in case the unthinkable happens.

I flew about 5 years ago - anchorage to Vancouver - couldn't fault them. I see they also fly from Hawaii to anchorage .
