Antibody testing is still up in the air, AFAIK, as to whether it really means anything.  All they seem to know for sure is that it means you were exposed to it recently, and it seems to fade over time, thus no confirmation of long-term protection.

Antibodies in your system means more than nothing.  It means that you have fought off the virus and still have those cells in your body to help fight off another infection.  There has only been one documented (2 other reports but details are sketchy) case of someone who has contracted COVID twice, that was a person from China who developed a slightly different strain after traveling to Spain.  He was not sick the second time around and the reason they found out was because of his trip to Spain, he was tested when returning to China.  What it not known is how long the antibodies will last, but that being said antibodies are not the only thing that will protect you after infection, T and B cells also play a role.  Look up Dr. John Campbell on YouTube, lots of good info there on the subject.  I had COVID back in March, as of last month still had antibodies, 5 months and still going.  A positive antibody test is a much better indication to travel than a PCR test that was done 5 days prior to travel as the person could have been exposed in the days following the test.

Hey....what can you tell us/me about the bartenders in The Haven??

Who were they, did you have a favorite, and any special concoctions you enjoyed, etc.

Oh and I have to ask - Any kid/teenager issues in The Haven?

There was two main bartenders, Silvia <sp> and I can't remember. Both were excellent but Silvia was awesome. Always had a huge smile and a very good at what she does. My parents really got into the "Smoked Bourbon" but I didn't really go for anything exotic. I can tell you though that what they made in the Haven was always better than what I got at the main pool bar when comparing the same drink.

Personally...the kids in the Haven pool turned it into a kids pool. My only issue with the ship as a whole is that the pools were not great. The main pool is small and you are either sitting in 3" of water or treading water that is 7' deep.

If you sit up front on the cat you will get wet, very wet on the way back. You can put your bag up in the area where they sail the boat to keep your stuff dry.

Some people on the excursion with us lost 2 phones and a kindle because the waterproof bag failed and the spray was so much.

Hey there....yes that was us! Happy to report that both phones now seem to be OK but the Kindle is garbage.

Back to Jost...do it do it do it. It is the most amazing beach and the drinks and food at Soggy Dollar were most excellent...but a little pricey!

Can't believe a week has gone by already since I was on that beach!

  4. Thanks for the awesome review of the ship!! I started reading Friday night and finally finished this evening. Will be sailing on the Escape next Saturday and by far I learned more about what/when/where from your posts and pictures than I ever could from NCL's own website. It has been 18 years since my last cruise as we have been beach resort people (mostly in Jamaica) and I am really looking forward to cruising around the Caribbean again. I feel much less overwhelmed now and feel I know a little more what to expect!
