  1. Our first cruise was aboard the Carnival Mardi Gras in about 1990. The cruise was a three day cruise out of Port Canaveral to the Bahamas. The cruise ship was in such bad condition, the cruise was so rough because of Hurricane Bob, my wife got sea sick because of the rough seas and the air conditioner in our cabin didn't work. Because of this cruise, we almost decided to never cruise again. Thankfully, we tried cruising again a couple of years later and loved it; we have cruised ever since.

  3. we cruised recently out of sydney on the rhapsody and we were booked in an outside on 3 deck but when we went to check in we were upgraded to an aft balcony on 7 deck, my wife was tickled pink

we were doing a b2b and the balcony cabins beside us were empty so instead of us moving to another cabin we were informed by the purser that we could stay in the aft balcony, we stayed in the balcony cabin for 25 days

we got 2 upgrades so we were very happy (thank you rccl)

    Yes, you did do well!!!

  4. Our first cruise was on the Carnival Mardi Gras out of Port Canaveral to the Bahamas. Chairs in the showroom were broken, the air didn't work the whole trip, the rooms were so small that when you got out of bed you were standing in the bathroom, we sailed through the backend of a hurricane and the seas were so rough most everyone was sick, including my wife. We promised ourselves that we would never sail again; even though, Carnival reimbursed us half of what we paid and gave us a discount for a future cruise. This was around 1990.

We decided two years later to try another cruise to give cruising a fair shot. If it weren't for a wonderful cruise aboard the Seawind Crown out of Aruba, I don't think we would have ever fallen in love with cruising as we are now.

  6. My DW and I have become used to the Traditional dining and will not change, but we are glad that HAL has adopted the As You Wish Dining for those who want it; everyone should be able to enjoy every aspect of their cruise. I for one enjoy having the same waitstaff who learn after the first or second night certain things that I like; such as, since I don't like the strong iced tea served on board, they will have a half glass of iced tea and a glass of water that I use to weaken the tea. This is one example of why I enjoy the way dining has always been.
