  1. My wife and I are taking our very first cruise ever on Carnival in two weeks. Our cruise leaves Miami and sails to Grand Turk, HMC and Nassau.

We have a couple of last minute questions that we are hoping someone could answer:

    1) Do you pack your own beach towels or use Carnival towels on excursions. We have a Cabana booked at Margaritaville in Grand Turk and also on Half Moon Cay. We will also be spending the day at the Bristish Colonial Hilton in Nassau (but they provide towels).

No ,use your carnival towel, they will replace it each night

    2) Is it worth packing a little medical kit like bandaids, advil, Imodium etc?

Yes, just in case. Medical stuff can be purchased but it is costly.

    3) We have FTTF sailing out of Miami. We have our check-in time of 10:00am and I was wondering if there is a special place we go in the terminal or are terminal staff good in making sure you get to the right location?

I would show up at 11:30 and skip the waiting, since you have FTTF you dont have to worry about lining up. The staff will guide you, but it is important to make sure your porter knows that you have priority luggage. Your room will be made up so drop your carry on first.

(go to cucina de capitano for lunch, no one will be there)

    4) Any tips or suggestions for first time cruisers?

    Thank you!

  2. I was on the Dream also and During the platinum get together the Captain said that during the first attempt to moor up one of the ships winches broke due to the swells and being on the end dock made the docking dangerous and difficult.

The day before we were in Antigua and the water was rough even in the normal peaceful dickenson bay.

  3. We will be in Antigua via Serenade of the Seas. We have a confirmed reservation for 12/31/15. The cost is $40pp. I contacted them originally through Facebook and finalized everything by email. I am so looking forward to spending New Year Eve at this resort.

    Merry Christmas!

    Gladys

    where are you going?

  4. The way I understand the Value Internet package ($16/day or $60/cruise) nothing is blocked but the speed will not support Skype or FaceTime.

My question is, since iMessage goes over the Internet instead of using cellular data can you purchase this package and text with someone back home (that has an iPhone)?

    Has anyone actually done this?

We are cruising in just over a month without our boys and hoped to use this to talk with them.

Just got off the breeze, Imessage worked with the social plan

  5. Before FTTF, which now I won't sail without, we book so far ahead it is always available, we have dropped our bags off at the cabin before it was ready. They weren't thrilled about it, but it was doable. Have a great cruise!

This does happen but it makes an already hard job more difficult, everyone says it just a few bags but alot of people do this.

  6. 99.1 is a fever . Normal temp is 98.6 . He does have a fever if temp is 99.1.

    NOPE!!!

    What is normal body temperature?

Most people think of a "normal" body temperature as an oral temperature of 98.6°F (37°C). This is an average of normal body temperatures. Your temperature may actually be 1°F (0.6°C) or more above or below 98.6°F (37°C). Also, your normal body temperature changes by as much as 1°F (0.6°C) throughout the day, depending on how active you are and the time of day. Body temperature is very sensitive to hormone levels and may be higher or lower when a woman is ovulating or having her menstrual period.

  7. Hi everyone,

I have never sailed on Carnival and most recently started price watching the 3 and 4 day cruises out of Los Angeles. Just looking for a little get away since I live in Arizona and it's a quick drive to Southern California.

I saw this pricing today and my first thought was yeah right..must be a glitch. I tried to book and the prices immediately changed on the second page. I also called and the person I spoke to wasn't very helpful, he just kept asking me where I was getting these numbers. I said I would take screen shots and email it to them however he didn't seem to care. Is this normal for these types of glitches? I am aware of the casino offers that are provided however I have never sailed on Carnival. I have sailed Princess several times but I know it isn't connected. Sorry for the bad quality on the pictures, I took them with my phone!

    Book it

  8. I'll be the dissent and say not worth it. I did last summer without a balcony, it was a much better view sitting up on deck.and seeing everything.

And I second cold being relative, I was barely in more than a tank and a lightweight cardigan most days. In port I actually wore sandals more than my trail runners. Did a tour up in Denali where the NYers had on jeans and sweatshirts, the Alaskan guides were in tees, and the group from Arizona had on down jackets and gloves.

Alaska is the ONLY time where a balcony is required. It was awesome bring able to sit out side at a moments notice and seeing whale and scenery. We were watching whales at 10pm.

  9. I have been taking my daughter to the steakhouse since she was 8, she loves it and it gives me a chance to show her that she is special. I take her to get her nails and hair done, take some pictures then we have a meal where we can talk. The only problem I have had with her is the time she requested ketchup for her filet.
