  1. Have not been in A750 on Ruby but last year on Crown had A753 and some friends had A751... the ships are practically identical. The PS's are nice suites with all the suite amenities. tub / stand alone shower etc. The OS's next door are noticably larger with larger balcony and usually not much more money. Whether it's worth it to you or not is up to you. And the 2 beams on the balcony of A753 and A752 do tend to "clutter" the balcony space. If you do a search for that suite number on yahoo pictures you should get some good pics.

  2. PV from what I could tell on my stop there a few years ago is pretty darn gay friendly. You've already been directed to the most popular resort, Blue Chairs. But PV also has some pretty good shopping downtown and on the whole seemed like a place I could return to just on regular vacation.

Personally I wasn't very impressed with Cabo, atleast the port area. But again that was one stop on a cruise a few years ago.

  3. Howdy Roy and Harold. Welcome aboard...did you book through the group or directly with princess? If you're through the group then you should check out the yahoo group to get all the information you've missed on excursions parties pre and post hotels etc. If you booked directly well, we're glad to have ya onboard anyway and look forward to seeing yall out by the pool!

  4. Yes, the cruises are always at the end of oct/beginning of november or they have been for the last several years. Yea, might be hard to make it fron hawaii to FLL on the same day LOL.

I'd say in the past its been very accepting.....sort of a live/let live thing... except some of the braver ones and come back and made friends. There's always a few women onboard who feel comfortable with the bears because they know they are perfectly safe and can read and relax without all the hassel..... There was one older lady last year, always had this big red hat with her that partied it up with the bears...she was by the pool and the disco with us, it was a blast.

  5. I have just gotten to know bears although not one myself. Love the lack of attitude and friendliness. Actually did a river tubing float outside of Gainesville Fl and had a blast. I think one of these bear cruises should be in my future.

Guess its time to look into Chumleys program a bit closer.

Hope you all have a great cruise......!

Well, come onboard Olympic, no time like the present!

  6. Howdy Dancermom!!

You know, I looked for a roll call for this cruise a while back and didn't find one. I'll look again to read up on you guys! If you're hanging by the aft pool chances are you'll meet 400 or so of us at one point or another LOL. But we're friendly fellas...a bit silly at times but friendly! Historically only about 1/3 of the group wear tuxes...another 1/3 wear suits and the final 1/3 well...they do the buffet on formal nights. Personally I haven't decided yet...on one hand a suit is pretty easy...on the other you gotta love a fella a tux.

So welcome and I know we all can't wait to get on the Crown!

  7. Hi all so we decided we want the cruise. I booked the airfare today and we fly into ft. lauderdale on the 1st of November and am leaving on the 15th. I still need to buy the cruise tickets but was told I am safe to leave it a couple of weeks.

Anyone know where to stay as in a gay b&b or gay hotel? Where are people staying? I heard some bad reviews from Schuberts on trip advisor so hope people aren't going there. Is it all that bad?

Any recommendation would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Pre cruise the Schubert is completely sold out and had stopped the waiting list since the waiting list was 2 to 3 times the amount of rooms available. I believe some are staying at the Coconut Cove or some such. but once you book, if you book through the group, you will recieve an invite to the yahoo group and you can post the question there.

    Welcome aboard!

  8. Hi Everyone,

My partner and I just signed up for the cruise. This will be our first bear cruise and our first cruise ever. Hope to meet some great people and make some new friend. Looking forward to meeting all of you in a couple of months.

Welcome aboard guys! this is my third year and its always a blast.

  9. well I know that cruise was protested in bahamas but thought I remembered it also in Caymen.....And still...the dude was taken into custody for kissing.... may have been released but still....makes me think twice about going on the island. I know its safe...in my youth I was there many times..but just becauses it ticks me off..LOL

  10. I will never go to Jamiaca again.... As for Grand Caymen

Reli, don't forget the protestors when Rosie's R Family ship docked there a few years ago.

And don't forget not even 2 years ago two gay men were arrested in a night club for kissing. they were released after but were arrested and charged with lewd conduct

  11. I am arriving from Germany at Miami Airport the day before at about 5.30 PM. I am planning to go to Fort Lauderdale directly from there and stay there for the night. Can anyone recommend any affordable hotel near the cruise port? And what is the best transfer from the airport to Fort Lauderdale? I think the taxi fares are around $100 which is way too expensive for me. :-)

Secondly I am wondering if everybody is going to attend the formal nights? If so, should I bring my own formal wear or is it ok to rent?

    Last question... :-)

I am returning to Germany on Nov. 16th. So I can spend 3 more nights in Florida. Which place will be more interesting/more fun? Miami/Miami Beach or Fort Lauderdale?

    Dirk.

First you can do a "super shuttle" not sure how much it is but it'll be less than a taxi.

secondly probably 2/3 to 3/4 of the guys do go to formal night. and yes its ok and can be convenient to rent. make sure you measure accurately for your sizes.

Miami/Miami Beach is a gay mecca....a twink gay mecca... if you're into muscle boys and latino men this would be your best bet in South Beach. If you want bears/leatherish type guys then Fort Lauderdale is your best bet...especially near WIlton Manors...

    Welcome aboard!

  12. This Thread has been real quiet considering the group posts on the CBC Board. Anyone have any thoughts what they're doing in Port ? Checked out PoC Section in CC, Doesn't look like much in Roatan. .. Can't wait to get on board !!

Roatan is a small port and not very well developed... there is some shopping but it can all be done in an hour or so.... I'm definitely doing the group excrusion here or maybe scuba diving IF i feel comfortable about it.

As for the rest not sure... Cozumel will probably be my shopping day. Still not sure how I feel about Grand Caymen, I know their stance on homosexuality has softened but still remember them as antigay so not sure if I will get off the ship or not..... its a battle I'm fighting to decide.

  13. anyone else going? I will be travelling by myself, (I know how sad, right?) lol hoping to make new friends! Not really a bear myself, but met this group last year and had a blast! hoping to see some old friends and make some new ones.

Looking for any scuba divers that will be on this cruise and fun loving people!

Hope to hear from others going on this cruise

    Mike

    Welcome Mike,

I'm traveling by myself too, I don't think that's sad at all! Also a scuba diver though whoafully out of practice, haven't been in about 5 years.

Glad you've joined us this year and hope you enjoy yourself again. And you don't have to be a bear or bearish or bear chaser or any such....you just have to be friendly and ready for fun!

  14. I'm flattered that you looked it up! However, there is a difference between the antipodes - which I am from - and The Antipodes - which I am not. Back to those reference books!

well, wiki only lists one The Antipodes of any kind.... though it does give a nice definition of antipodes and gives a nice list of places that are antipodes of each other....so I'll just take your word for it.

  15. OK, thanks for the advice guys. i'm in. It's a long long flight from the antipodes, but I'm sure it will be worth it!:)

Um I looked up the antipodes and yes, that's a very very long flight. wow! But aren't the antipodes uninhabited?

  16. um well I'm a single man and I've enjoyed the last 2 tremendously.... there are a lot of couples but there are a lot of singles too...if I had to guess I'd say 70% couples and 30% singles? and there are some....single for the week fellas...like yourself...
