  1. I've booked our first Carnival cruise on the Sunshine out of Charleston 3/30/20.

We've only cruised twice and both were with RCCL.

I'm really looking forward to this cruise and I was wondering if anyone has any opinion on the shows and teen activities?

  2. I would like to know the difference in prices for lunch and dinner? Also, one of the perks of eating at the complimentary restaurants is that if you don't finish or plate, no big deal. With the specialty dining, if you don't finish your plate, can you get a to go box? If not, what if we brought one with us? Asking because my mother had gastric bypass and she eats small amounts about every 2 or 3 hours. If we are paying extra, don't want it to go to waste. Also, I think elderly people eat less for some reason.

  3. This will be our first cruise on the Anthem and I have a dining question.

I was thinking since it's a 5 night cruise we would be able to eat at multiple areas - The Grande, Chic, American Icon, Silk and either the Windjammer or Specialty Dining.

While watching videos on YouTube giving tours and tips on cruising, I heard that depending on if you have Dynamic Dining or Traditional will depend on which of the 4 dining rooms you can eat in. Does this mean we won't be able to try all 4?

    Thanks

  4. Thank you so much for your review!!! We are looking forward to our Enchantment cruise during Spring break 2016. (3/28-4/1) This will be our first family cruise and we have booked PV room 8600 as well!!!

There will be 3 of us. Our daughter is 10 years old. I'm celebrating my 40TH birthday. Hoping we don't have bathroom issues. (LOL) My husband (age 37) is known to clog a toilet or two when we go on vacations. I have read other places on these boards about the shower curtains. I guess we will need to bring magnets.

We're not big drinkers but I have to say the photo you shared with the cooler for $30 with 5 bottles of beer just may be the best thing for my husband. I don't drink anything carbonated but I may have a mix drink or two each day. Not worth purchasing a package for.

Was there a midnight chocolate buffet? Do you have any pics?

I have to wait until January to book our dinner reservations and shore excursions but here's what I think we will do: Dinner in the Main Dining area first night and 3rd night. Since the second night is formal, we will eat in the Windjammer. For our last night, we figured we would feed our daughter from the Park Café and then let her go to the children's area while my husband and I have dinner at Chops. I have read great reviews about Chops. The day at CoCo Cay we will only do the snorkeling that is at your leisure and not timed. When visiting Nassau, I read that the Blue Lagoon is a great beach area to visit. Both these days we will have lunch on the beach. On our forth day, we will have lunch in the Windjammer. I'm assuming breakfast each morning in the Windjammer as well or Park Café.

Did your son like the children's club?

  5. First time cruiser here. Since this board is talking about luggage tags I thought I could ask a question about luggage.

There will be 3 of us taking a 4 night RCCL on the Enchantment March 2016.

    (2 adults 1 child)

I was thinking 3 carry-ons will be sufficient. Do we have to TAG carry-ons? I know when flying we are each permitted to take a carry-on. Are the rules different with cruises? I have no problem keeping luggage on us until our room is ready.

My thought right now is 2 rolling suit cases that meet the height and width requirements for flights and 1 rolling garment bag for dress pants, dress and suit jacket. Also one back pack with documents.

With airline requirements for liquids, each carry-on bag may contain a 1quart zip lock bag with 3.4 ounces of how ever many liquids will fit. Is this okay with cruise check in?

    Thanks

  6. Thanks for posting pictures. I just booked our first cruise today!! I specifically requested room 8600. The space looks like it will be perfect for us. I kept going back and forth between interior, regular ocean view and balcony. My travel agent said the interior rooms were all pullman beds and I don't think my 10 year old will sleep well on something like that. So I wanted to find something with a pull out couch. There were a few balcony rooms with pull out couches but how often will we actually use the balcony? So, we decided on ocean view and it wasn't until after I seen your photos that I even knew there was something called "panormic" Thanks

  7. I just booked a cruise for my first time through AAA. Agent told me that my family needs to complete application for passports. I read that there are book passports - card passport - or the option to purchase both.

I tried calling my agent back to ask her but she was already gone for the day so I called the post office. They told me a book is only needed if flying from the US to another country or if driving from US to another county. Since we are in the US (Ohio) flying within the US (Florida) then cruising to the Bahamas and back to Florida that purchasing a passport card is all we need.

I don't foresee our family leaving the country very often. I'm hoping the cruise runs smoothly and perhaps we can take another cruise, but other than that, I don't see ourselves ever flying to another country.

So, what do we buy (book/card/both)? Do we take with us to the cruise what ever form of passport we order (book/card/both) with birth certificates too? I can understand ID (drivers license) but why so much ID?
