...Post cruise notes:  Tested Negative for Covid (may be too early).  This is just my routine when I travel (pre/post tests)...

I was in this 7 days California costal cruise and started having covid symptom (sore throat) on Monday.  Did a PCR test on Tuesday and was confirmed Positive yesterday around noon.  Had fever above 102F last night right after first dose of Paxlovid and Advils and the fever had subside to normal today.  Sore throat is better but still bothersome.  As most people said nowadays, very similar to a flu (first time covid).

  2. Wife and I will be in our Princess cruise in a few days and she doesn't have a log in account with Princess (her second cruise but first with Medallion) nor she had the medallion apps.  I manage everything from booking and check-in so she doesn't need those thing.  We are getting the Princess plus package for this cruise and WiFi is part of the package, does she need the medallion apps to get access to Wifi?  If she download, does she need to create a separate log-in?

Wow, I can't believe it! Just received and email with a  complimentary upgrade to a balcony for my first ever Princess cruise and first ever Alaskan trip. Because I was going solo, tagging along with family on the cruise tour, I went with an inside room and was happy enough with the location, deck 15 one deck below the Lido deck that I passed on paying $140 a month or so ago to upgrade to a balcony. Then today, I just checked my email while fighting through the next to last day of work before vacation, and boom complimentary upgrade to deck 10 balcony, starboard side mid-ship right by the elevator!!

    Now I'm REALLY excited.

Coagulation on your upgrade, I will also be on Royal southbound from Whittier next Sat, Sept 7th, same cruise?

  4. I am going to be on Board of Royal Princess next month for my Alaskan Cruise (7 days).  While I look for the various drink packages, I saw the new (not offered on my last cruise on board Coral couple months ago) "Premier Coffee & Soda Package" for $23.59 per person, per day vs the "Classic Soda Package" for for $11.79 per person, per day, while I know what is the classics soda package include, the new "Premier Coffee & Soda Package" fine print said:

    What is Included

    • The package includes all, specialty or premium coffees and teas, hot chocolate, fountain sodas, fresh juices (if available), Gong Cha items (if available), Frappes at Coffee & Cones, mocktails, and smoothies as per the menu, Red Bull and Milk Shakes (if available).
    • The package includes one souvenir tumbler based on availability and while supplies last.
    • The package provides a 25% discount on the following excluded items: bottles of water of any size, canned items such as soda or bottled juices (if available).
    • The package may be used on our Private Islands and all onboard Food and Beverage Venues and other areas such as the Theater or public spaces that offer beverage service. Selections and service are limited to that venue’s menu offerings and operating hours.

So does that mean I also get "unlimited" specialty coffees like all of the coffees (and teas) item on a "Coffee Card" except no sharing?

  5. We also got a letter before our cruise, but it said something about drills or tests. We arrived at our time, but after going through all the lines we were given boarding zones and had to sit and wait for our zone to be called. We weren't on until about 3:00.

So what time did you arrive?

  6. Carnival has no such thing as an assigned check in time. Those emails are meant to spread people out so the area does not get overloaded. If the email says something about testing or immigration I might pay more attention to it.

I usually get to the port 10:00-10:30 and am on board 11:00-11:30 unless they were delayed from the prior cruise.

Thanks, this is the full email:

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION

    CARNIVAL IMAGINATION

    MAY 17, 2015

    May 5, 2015

    Hi there:

Betcha can't wait for your cruise aboard the beautiful Carnival Imagination. So, we'd like to take a moment to provide you with some important information.

To ensure a smooth embarkation experience, we will be implementing staggered check-in windows for your cruise. Your assigned check-in time is from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. We kindly ask that you make plans to arrive within this time frame as guests arriving outside of their assigned window may be asked to come back later or experience a longer wait time.

We highly recommend you check-in at least one hour prior to our scheduled departure time of 5:30 PM. Please keep in mind that you may not be able to embark if you arrive later than 30 minutes prior to sail time.

Lastly, if you have not yet registered for your cruise online, please take a moment to do so now as it will speed up your check-in at the pier. Visit us at www.carnival.com/BookedGuest to register and print your boarding pass.

We can't wait to welcome you aboard for a fun and memorable cruise vacation.

    See you soon!

    Sincerely,

  7. Hi, this is my first cruise and I just receive and email from Carnival regarding embarkation on my Mexico 4 days cruise on the Imagination on 5/17. They said that my assigned check-in time is from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the email but what I heard from this forum is that I can go there at around noon and get on the ship in about an hour...

My question is, can I go there at noon (or before that) and get on the ship earlier or should I go there at 3:00pm per the email?

    Thanks
