"A proper martini is made with gin.
A good martini is made with vodka"
-Abraham Lincoln.
(I may have mis-attributed that quote.)

How much is the Louis XIII? I mean for a single serving on the ship?
Looks like a bottle goes for about $5000.
It would be fun to order one and then just mix it with ginger ale.
Edit: Never mind. I looked it up:

Is the parking in a garage?
I am wondering if I can use my rooftop cargo carrier for the trip down. It is too tall for a typical (low headroom) parking deck.

Last dry-dock the Haven Concierge Lounge deck 15 was converted into 2 H2 category staterooms.
Thanks. I just got the upgrade offer and I could not find any info on this suite for the Jewel. The floorplan mskes it look like ther's a hot tub on the balcony, but I can't find anything confirming this.
EDIT: I did find some info for the GEM on these suites, and they do (at least on the GEM) have hot tubs on the balcony. One reviewer complained that they drained it after each use, and you needed to inform them when you wanted it refilled. Others didn't mention this. I imagine it slops all over the balcony in rough seas.

About 30 days in the North Pacific from Pearl Harbor.
On a nuclear submarine.
All sea days.
No drink plan.
No drinks.
No fun.

Booked Vancouver-Hawaii 11-day for 20th anniversary.
This will be my first NCL cruise as well. I was looking for this exact info. Thanks for starting the thread!
We have done CCL & RCCL before.
So, to summarize the main differences:
1) No formal night (good! I like dressing up, but hate packing a suit, shoes, etc)
2) No set dining times
3) No carry-on beverages
4) May have to pay for shows
5) Need to make reservations for shows

Do you mean you can get two drinks with one card? That would be nice. Slight annoyance to get the SO's card to get us both drinks.
Also like the no-sign policy. RCCL cruise three years ago - still had to sign. Just cruised same ship last month - never had to sign.

I booked a Cloud 9 suite on the Splendor for an anniversary trip back in 2013. I really liked the spa access.
So much so that I actively sought a spa ship for our anniversary trip coming up in October. Going on the Dream this time!

To add to the anecdotal evidence; I just returned from a cruise on the Grandeur-oTS out of Baltimore. They never asked for the DD-214, but I had a copy with me.
And the copy was notarized by the notary at my travel agent. They just verified that it was a copy of the original.

We always thought it was for "retired" military.
So did I. We booked through a travel agent this time and she asked if I was in the military and I said, "Yes, but I'm not active or retired."
She said that it didn't matter as long as I had a DD-214. Saved me $700!
I gave her a copy of the DD-214, but she called me back later and said that RCI wanted at the time of boarding and that it was a new policy.
I wasn't planning on taking the original. It's 25 years old and a bit fragile.
How much do you really see?

Like others have said. You get a taste. A very small one.
I lived in Paris for five years and could still discover new things.
Personally, I wouldn't cruise Europe as I have been most everywhere. But if I had never been there, I would do it. It's a great way to find what you like and then plan a longer stay in the future.
