  1. Hi guys ,

We will be taking the Bahamas cruise on Jan 1st , stopping in Nassau and Freeport .

We understood that the Taino beach is a very nice , and wanted to know how do we get there from the ship .

    Would appreciate you help

    Tnx

  2. Hi Guys ,

We are about to book the 4 day Bahamas cruise ( leaves at January 1st from Port Canaveral ) .

we are 5 so I will need one regular room and one room for 3 ( we are talking about interior ones ) . . The issue is that the only 3 bedroom left is in the very front of the ship ( deck 7 - Empress , at the beginning of the 72xx rooms ).

Can someone tell me his/hers opinion on this area ? it seems a bit far from the buffet area , but what most worries me is the noise/movement of the ship.

Alternatively I can take the cruise with the RC , Majesty of the sea - it is kind of the same price ( maybe 100$ cheaper for the whole package ,total , not per person ) , but their available rooms are more at the 2nd floor, and I heard that this ship is much smaller and older . ( just for better perspective - this is our 2nd cruise ever , and the first one was a 7 day with the Carnival Glory ) .

any comments will be appreciated :-) .

    Tnx

  3. Hi all

We are very excited for the our cruise that starts today as it is the first time for us , especially the kids !.

I called Carnival today and they said that boarding will not start before 1 PM and they will not even let us start the boarding before 1 PM .

As we do not want to wait for a long time , do you think we can get there earlier ? like maybe 11 or 12 ?

I know that some of you mentioned that you can come earlier , but as I have never been in that port , or in Carnival cruise , I do not want to come and wait standing with all the family and all the suitcases .

    What do you think ?

    Tnx

  4. Dolphin encounters are usually expensive - I would expect to pay over $100 per person.

Most people suggest registering kids when you get on board and encourage kids to attend the first meeting - especially teens when they can make friends.

Check your insurance. Many policies do not cover you out of the country. The ship's medical facility is available but will charge you similar prices to US. They normally bill your sea pass card and you file insurance.

Suggest checking on the Carnival boards for specific information on your cruise.

    Tnx for the answer ,

Something very strange on this one :

I tried to book dolphin swim at Cozumel directly through that site : https://www.dtraveller.com/e-payments/reservation/payment , and got a price of 291 $ for 3 adults and one kid ( as they add a discount directly ) , but when trying to pay , they ask if you are coming on a ship on from a hotel , and when I entered the ship details , it says I have to book through Carnival .

When trying to do that - it costs over a 100 $ more for the 4 of us !!!! I called Carnival , and they said that's the price and can't do anything! this is crazy !

I have the option to choose on the payment page that we are coming from a hotel and not a ship , but I don't know if they are going to check it or not .

I know it is not nice to give the wrong information , but I think it is not fair to force me to buy it through the Carnival and charge over 30 % percent more.

Do you have a clue if they check where do I come from ?

  5. Hi ,

We are first time cruisers and will take the cruise this Saturday ( May 23rd ) with Carnival , to Cozumel , Belize Ruatan and Grand Cayman.

    I have a few questions if I may :-) :

    1. We are interested in dolphin encounters but in Cozumel it seems very expensive ( maybe I looked at the wrong company ? ) .

Can we have dolphins encounters or similar in any of the other above islands in a more reasonable price?

    2. Do I have to register my kids ( 11 , 14 , 16 ) to the ship club , or can they just show up there ?

    3. We live in the US and have a health insurance of course here , but what about health issues on the ship ( if someone feels sick or will need any kind of treatment on the ship )? I am not talking about a disaster , god forbid ( as we have bought an insurance for that ) , but on regular health issues if they happen.

Thank you for your help !

  6. We are five so I believe we can take one minivan ( hopefully ). We will arrive late , around 23:00 on Friday , so we will just stay for the night and take the taxi you mentioned from the airport hotel to the ship.

1 more question if I may:

After we return form the cruise we will go to visit family in Florida and will rent a car . Should we take taxi back to the airport and rent from there or is there a rental company near the port?

    Tnx again

  7. Hi ,

We ( 2 parents , 3 kids 11, 15 , 17 ) will arrive this Friday night (5/22 ) to Miami airport ( I think it is called MIA ), and planning to stay just one night , as we take the carnival cruise on Saturday.

We will take 2 rooms and do not need a fancy hotel , but a reasonable one.

would appreciate your help and experience here :-) :

    1. Should we take the hotel near the airport , and transportation to the cruise on Saturday , or take one close to the ship ?

    2. According to the answer for the first question - can anyone recommend a reasonable hotel , or a way to get one ( maybe bid on price line ) ?

    3. should I take the ship transportation or use other way?

I know you probably heard these questions a lot , but I kind of feel that even after looking at some of the posts , I do not have enough info , so please accept my apologies :-)

    Tnx

  8. Hi All ,

This is the first cruise for us ( 2 parents and 3 kids , 17 , 15 , 11 ) and we are taking Carnival Glory (7 nights to the Caribbean , May 23rd ).

Our route is : Miami , Cozumel ,Belize, Rutan ,Grand Cayman Miami.

I wanted to ask some questions ( hope it is not too much of a bother :-) ):

    1. We are flying to Miami next Friday and will stay there for one night - can someone recommend a reasonable hotel ( 2 or 3 stars ) around the airport?

2 . What's the best way ( considering time and money ) to get from Miami hotels to the ship on Saturday noon for 5 people ? any idea regarding the cost?

    3. How much does it cost to get internet on the ship ?

    4. Does it have a data limit ?

    5. Can we use wi-fi calls like what'sup , if we purchase internet package?

6 . Do you know if this is a rain/storms season for our route?

    7. Do we have to bring fancy clothes at all? ( I have never worn a suit before :) ).

8.Can I use US money everywhere , or do I need to exchange money beforehand?

    Tnx a lot !!
