  1. ok I'm sure some will have negative comments but please don't 😞  We're cruising on the Spirit to Alaska in June a party of 4. One in the ppl in our party is a smoker. We have cabins 5141 and 4187 booked (hubby and I booked separately so we could get them the same price we got 🙂. Which cabin would be closer/easier to get to for the smoker? We've personally haven't been on this ship yet so I have no idea. Thanks.

last 2 cruises ours was denied..they said it’s because we booked with special rate, we’ll duh not make ppl book full price. I know a bunch of us weren’t to happy.

Head up to the town for some refreshments - Sticky Wicket, Swans, Bard & Banker and Irish Times are some of my favourites.

We’re coming in June on the Carnival Spirit, can you tell me about how far of a walk it is to the town area your talking about? Thanks a bunch

  4. Rhapsody is a nice ship, sailed on her this past February. I've sailed many Carnival cruises before I became more exclusive with Royal Caribbean. My preference is now Royal Caribbean. Though I'm now more exclusive with Royal Caribbean I still try to keep up with the going ons with Carnival. One day the time will come and I'll sail one of their newer ships.

There are some things that Carnival and Royal Caribbean are alike on the smaller ships and some things are completely different. On many of the Royal Caribbean ships they will feel more nautical. Knowing what ships you sailed on with Carnival will give us a better idea on what some of the differences may be for you on Rhapsody.

Thanks & thx for the pics. First thing I noticed when my cousin told me which ship was that it was smaller and older, but that's ok. SHips I've sailed are in my signature, Mostly the Liberty when it's at my homeport of Canaveral ( I'm 25 mins away) lol

  5. been on 9 carnival cruises, but have our first Royal cruise booked for Feb. because my cousin was already booked. What differences is there? any tips/tricks I should know. Anything specifically about Rhapsody? Must eat foods? I'm seeing yes and no about freestyle machines on the Rhapsody, anyone recently off that can tell me for sure. Room service, I see there's a charge of $7.95, so if I just have morning coffee delivered it's $7.95?

Looking forward to our first one with Royal. Thanks

  6. In some cases I've seen both Voom Surf and Voom Surf and Stream offered. Once is substantially more expensive (Surf and Stream). Make sure the packages contain the same level of Voom. Once could be higher, the other lower.

    Just a thought.

What do you mean by same level? you mean like how many devices? sorry not familiar with Royals internet.. thank you

  7. Hey y'all,

We're booked on our first RCCL on the Rhapsody, but not new to cruising. I'm confused on the website, I'm looking at internet and soda pkg. For soda pkg it's 9.99 day, for Voom surf & stream 1 device it's 11.99 per day. So for both it's $21.98 per day. However, under the beverage/dining tab, it has a combined pkg of internet (1 device) and soda pkg combo and it says $24. per day? That's more than getting them separate, figured since it was a combo it might be less, am I missing something? I also don't see a whole lot of posts for the Rhapsody, is it not a good ship? we booked it cuz my cousins asked us to go with them and they were already booked lol. If you have cruised Carnival and RCCL any tips or big differences you want to post would be appreciated, Thank you

  8. $30 per hour... and we chose 4 hours. Admission to Ardastra Zoo ($18 for adults and $9 for children) and Ft. Charlotte (cheap... I think less than $5 each & tip to tour guide) was additional. Tour company also provided beverages and frozen ice pops for the kids. There were 9 of us and it was no more expensive than a ship excursion would have been for all of us -- plus we got to see & do exactly what we wanted to -- and we determined when we wanted to leave and go to the next location.

so it was $120.00 Per person? or you mean $120. total for all 9 ppl. thanks

  9. Sorry to hear that, our son always loved going (Has been in 2 of the age groups) . He didn't always like what they did but enjoyed spending time with other kids. He didn't spend a lot of time there though as it was family vacation. In December he'll be in the teen group & he can't wait.

Our whole cruise plan was changed by the fact that our kids did NOT like the camp. We thought we'd have time for relaxing, casino, 'couple time', etc. but our whole experience was shifted.

Our boys are 6 and 8 and their group activities (6-8 year olds) was very immature IMO.

They came out the first time and said "They made us sit down and listen to a story!!!". Even I thought that was ridiculous. They are not 3 year olds.

They are confined to a room - no outside or sports activities - and the most excitement I could imagine is the Wii and Playstation games for kids that like that kind of thing. My kids are active and love sports or age appropriate games. The camp seems geared toward girls who are generally more passive, enjoy crafts and things. They had Musical Chairs as one activity. Seriously?

Some kids were obviously fine with it or even really liked it, but we didn't imagine that our kids would hate it and so just wanted to plant that in people's minds so they could have a back up plan. Me and the hubby had to take turns going to the casino, etc. because the kids were with us most of the time.

The fact that it was cold weather and 3 days until we got to a port was very difficult. Not much to do as a family inside the boat for 3 days during the day. Nights were ok - by the time you ate there was a show or comedy show that took up your evenings.

  10. I hear ya and totally agree. I've been using the site for years. I just wish I had bought the unlimited lifetime credits last time instead of the 12-for-$9.95 package. But as soon as I've used up the last of these 12, that's exactly what I'll do. I was not disagreeing with you in any way - just adding (for the benefit of those that would be checking out the site for the first time) that if you buy more credits at a time, the price per credit goes down.:)

I'm a bit confused 😁 Do you pay 99 cent every time there is a price drop for each one? Like if I'm booked on say balcony 8b, does that mean I set up alerts for every balcony category above me ?? Thanks

  11. we're not big spenders. We pre-pay tips and excursions (the ones we can and take the cash for the ones we can't) we only buy 1 "trinket" per port for the curio cabinet, we take a lot of 1's and 5's for tips, plus tip extra our cabin stewards and waiters if deserved ( they always have been) we usually only take about 150.00 each for the casino for the week and then a few hundred on drinks and usually buy a pic or 2 that goes on the Credit card on our sign and sail. Our highest sign and sail was about 1,300. on our first cruise went way overboard :D on pics and gift shop, lol

  12. Thinking of booking the Magic to the Med in June '11. I know the Magic is the sister ship to the Dream. What is the difference between the cove balcony rooms and a regular balcony room? Is it just the deck the room is on? Thanks.

I think it's a personal choice, we do regular balconies, when I booked the dream my PVP tried to get me to try a cove balcony but I passed even though they're cheaper I dont' think I'd like being that close to the water, even though hubby would have loved it

  13. Does anyone know what/if there is a one way drop off fee from MCO to port canaveral with dollar car rental? On the site in small print I found something that said about one way fee, however when I go to check out no one way fee shows up? I found an awesome deal but not sure if'll they'll add a one way fee, if so how much, cuz maybe it won't be such a great deal, lol thanks in advance, I"m really hoping someone is on here tonight as I want to book this before I loose the deal :)
