  1. My husband loves king crab and I've heard rumors of all you can eat king crab places in Alaska but can't find any currently open (or whose menus back up the online review that they offer it). We will be in Anchorage, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Icy Strait Point. Anyone know of any in these areas? Thanks!

  2. We were looking at doing the Sea Lion Swim they offer but there's only one spot left. I can book directly through Coral World but wasn't sure if it would be feasible to get there from the ship (looks like a 30 minute drive from the dock). Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

  3. Trying to figure out how expensive/doable it would be to get from the port to Coral World on our own. Anyone have any idea how much this would be for 2 people and whether it would be better to book a taxi in advance or just grab someone when I get there? Thanks!

  4. RC just switched to a new website and it is glitch-city. Made a new booking on Friday, which wouldn't show up and told me it wasn't a valid reservation number when I tried to link it. Then told me I was pre-gold and now I can't log in. The reservation and pre-gold issues resolved themselves so I'm assuming the log in issue will as well. I guess this is the price you pay for a "new and improved" website. Hoping they resolve these issues quickly.

  5. We are staying in Rome for a day or two after, so no flight concerns. I just don't want a poor driver waiting on me if I give them the wrong time or put too late and be stuck standing around. From what you're telling me, it sounds like 8:30-9 would be a good time.

  6. We are going on a 9 day cruise out of Civitavecchia in a few weeks. I just booked our car there, but I'm unsure what time to book for pickup coming back since I don't know our tag number, etc. We are supposed to get back at 5am on a Friday. Does anyone have any recommendations about this? Thanks!

  7. I'm trying to figure out what, if anything, Royal Caribbean provides for decor for the wedding and reception location. My planner doesn't seem to have any idea. Can anyone let me know? I just want to make sure I buy anything they aren't providing before I get there.

Also, does anyone know if we are expected to tip the staff after the reception or is there a tip built into the amount paid like on the drink packages? Thanks!

  8. I am planning my wedding at the moment and as long as you don't mind being the squeaky wheel, you can make it work. That being said, if you are looking for them to be proactive about planning or attentive to details regarding your wedding, that will not happen. Took me 7 months to get an initial call with the planner (we signed the contract almost a year out) and we are currently on our third planner. That being said, this one actually responds to my e-mails, so there is hope. I think they are just massively understaffed for what they are doing.

  9. I am getting married on board the Brilliance of the Seas and was looking to rent tuxes for my fiance and groomsmen. My question is how to get measurements done. I don't trust myself to take the correct measurements and I would feel badly having a suit store take them if I don't intend to purchase anything. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

  10. RCI does at sea weddings. I am doing mine with them next spring. You just have to ask for the Bahamian Maritime License. Since the company is out of the Bahamas, the captain and certain crew members are authorized by the Bahamian government to perform marriages in international waters.

  11. I would look for an island tour. You can probably find a reputable company doing inexpensive private tours on a place like Trip Advisor. I did this in Cozumel and it was great because we could decide where we wanted to go without having to worry about a set schedule or what others wanted to do.

  12. Another Orlando native here. It rained today for 15 minutes but I guarantee you that the weather said there was a 50-70% chance of rain. During the summer, it is typical for it to rain for 30 minutes to a couple of hours most days. Nothing you are planning should be rained out so I wouldn't worry. Just be prepared to grab a drink for a few minutes while the weather passes. :D

  13. This may sound like a strange question, but I was wondering about the layout of Deck 10 on the Brilliance of the Seas. We will be staying in a junior suite and wanted to know if there is a wall or barrier between the rooms on one side of the ship (i.e. starboard v. port) or if there is an open hallway there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  14. I'm looking to book my wedding with Royal Caribbean. I have an idea how many will be attending, but not a firm head count. I know that you can block rooms and let people decide whether to book on their own, but I'd prefer to use a travel agent. So I was wondering if anyone had used a travel agent for this with their wedding and if anyone had recommendations for getting the best deal. I typically use Cruise Compete, but since I don't know exactly who is coming (or what type of room they want) I'm not sure this is a good option. Thanks in advance!
