THank you all. We finally decided on Viking " Into the Midnight Sun"

We had those three ports and made each of them basically differently themed.
Geiranger was for scenery, both taking pictures during our sailin and then taking one of the onshore bus tours that stopped at various sites.
Bergen for us was about museums, though we also did go to the funicular for scenery.
In Alesund we took a ship's excursion that highlighted the art deco architecture of the city.
which cruise line did you use?

My husband and I were considering a cruise around Norway - maybe Iceland, -- fjords, etc. for June 2024.
At first we said - Viking - as we have sailed on them once before and it was great.
But then we started to look around at other cruise lines - and they all do similar itineraries and prices varying widely.
I'm afraid I may have turned into a snob as now that I've sailed Viking and Oceania and Celebrity - will I feel like I"m missing something if we go to Norwegian or MSC or ??
I know we have to figure out if we want a sophisticated, smaller type ship (Viking)
or all the bells and whistles of Norwegian Cruise Line (Celebrity, Holland America, etc.)
I'm afraid I may have turned into a spolied cruiser now that I've sailed Viking and Oceania and Celebrity . Will I feel like I"m missing something if we go to Norwegian or MSC or ??
If anyone can help us narrow down our options - thanks in advance.

Just booked the Jan 27, 2018 Blue Note at Sea on the Celebrity Summit charter. Very excited. Wondering if there's a roll call group for the upcoming cruise.

Hi - you were in Cabin 9300 on the Equinox?? That's going to be our cabin too! It will be our first time on Celebrity. Our most recent cruise was on Oceania Riviera ship. I see that we'll share a private door with our neighbor????
Thanks for all your reviews of your Equinox cruise. I stayed up one night with my "smart phone" reading the entire thread instead of going to sleep!

Thanks! We're booked for the first time on Celebrity Equinox sailing January 30 in the Caribbean

You can choose a preferred airline to link with your AMex Platinum. You will get a rebate of non-ticket charges such as alcohol and snack purchases up to $200 per year from Amex. Just another way to recoup some of that $450 yearly charge.
Happy travels
Yup, thanks for that advice. I noted that in the brochure that came with the card. I plan to use as many perks as I can for that fee!:)

Wow. Looks like I hit a hot topic nerve. Thanks to everyone for their input. Some good advice out there - especially about the Chase Sapphire card which I don't have but will look into.
End result for me, I got my Platinum Amex today and I will get the $300 OBC and bottle of wine.
The only reason I got the Platinum Amex right now is that I received an offer in the mail from Plat.AX - for first time cardholders - of 100K points. So, that made the $450 fee worthwhile.
For the time being we'll keep our Delta card too - as we do fly Delta often enough.

Thanks for helping me feel better.

We have never cruised with Oceania before and are very much looking forward to our first cruise with them this June.
I've found myself to become a bit frustrated and p'd off with a couple of things. I am going through a TA too.
First I was told that we would get a $1200 air credit pp if we didn't take Oceania's air. Well, by the time I told my TA that we were taking our own air, the Oceania air credit is now $1000 pp. (so that's a $400 loss for us)
Then, we were told that if we use Amex Platinum we would be eligible for $300 OBC + wine tasting party, + ??. So, I used my Delta SkyMiles Platinum Amex for the deposit. THis is not Oceania's fault - but I subsequently found out that the Delta Skymiles Platinum Amex is not the same as the real Amex Platinum. OK.
So, today, I was approved for a real Amex Platinum card and told my TA that I want my bal due to be charged to the new Platinum Amex. So, my TA informed me that Oceania will not grant me the special OBC and perks unless the entire cost of the trip was charged to the Platinum Amex! (Just lost an extra $300 OBC).
I just wish Oceania was just a bit more flexible to make their customers happy.
Just venting! Thanks for listening.

So, the cruise and the ship look great. We've never sailed on Oceania before nor have we been to this region of the world. We're looking to do something special for our special anniversary and this might be it. I was on the phone with my travel agent yesterday and got lots of good info.
So does anyone want to comment or review the Mediterranean cruise on Oceania?
Thanks.

Just looking for any reviews of Oceania's "Glamorous Riviera" cruise.
This year it's a 10 day trip starting and ending in Rome on the Riviera ship.
-
Curious of any of the river cruise lines would be able to accomodate my husband and myself with our adult daughter in 1 room.
-
Next year - May 2016 we will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, and our daughter's graduation from college. We thought that a very nice cruise might be just the celebratory gift for all 3 of us. One of my concerns is if there will be anyone else near my daughter's age (22) on board.

Hi,
My husband and I, with our young adult daughter are planning on a cruise on the Marina. I understand the rooms with the pull out sofa for the 3rd passenger are comfortable? Any input?

Hi,
I'm looking at an Oceania cruise in June 2016 on the Marina, and I'm trying to get a handle on what the extra charges are. I understand the cooking classes are extra, as well as any alcoholic beverages. I assume spa services are also extra. But what about using the spa - the exercise machines, the classes? What about the high tea they talk about? Any input is appreciated. Thank you.
Cruises to Norway and Scandinavia- I'm overwhelmed.

There was an itinerary on Windstar which looked great - but we compromised and chose a Viking cruise which will visit Bergen, Geiranger, Lofoten Islands, Tromso, Honnigsvag -- and then to Scotland and finally, London
