I figured you'd already gotten your answer to that question as Budget Queen answered it correctly. I was simply giving you extra info you might like since it surprised our group. We expected to be able to leave when we wanted to and could not.

We took this excursion recently. The excursion info says they have a shuttle back every 30 minutes, but it's actually whenever they have a full shuttle.

Loved the escargot! The sushi was bad for me, only because I love it at home and what they serve isn't what I like. Too spicy!

We did Cahal Pec in Belize. It was a two hour bus ride, but most people napped. The site had 7 plazas and was very shaded. We climbed all over the ruins, including to the top of the highest one! We also had great guides and since English is the official language of Belize we had zero problem understanding them. The tour guides were also good at pointing out wildlife and plants at the sight. We even saw a toucan!

We just got off the Valor and they had it. I'm not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed that my team won. It was a lot of fun. Our team was mostly other random young people we met 5 minutes before we started. I would say it was a blast for 18-25 year olds who don't have anything to lose.

My family's first cruise will be stopping in Costa Maya. We've booked excursions through Carnival for every port but this one. My mom and I got really excited when we read about beach massages. Is there anywhere near the port or in Mahahual to get just a massage? We're not super beachy people so we don't really want to pay for a resort/lunch/open bar/lounger and then a massage separately.

Is there anywhere on board to get current news? I'm a huge political junkie anxiously waiting some Supreme Court decisions. I'm sailing on the Valor 6/27-7/4, which is the last week of the courts usual session so the big cases are released then. I don't want to pay for internet on board but if I have to, then oh well.
