  1. We received a refund for the cruise from Discover (we are Canadians and booked through them). Unfortunately, even though we have trip cancellation insurance, our insurance company will not refund the airfare (which was almost $2000.) from Canada to the Canaries, because American Airlines offers a credit if flight is cancelled but no refund. The credit must be used and travel finished by September/17, and there is a charge of $275. extra for each flight booked. We can't transfer the credit to anyone else either. We are not going to be able to use any of the credit, so this is really a bummer.

  2. We are Canadians also, and have paid for a trip on the Minerva supposedly departing from the Canary Islands on January 17/17. Do you know how we can get a refund? We have been on four previous cruises with Voyages of Discovery and the Minerva and absolutely loved them all! So disappointed. Apparently TICO doesn't cover this loss since All Leisure Holidays (which is the company that went bankrupt) isn't a cruise line (it's a travel agent/wholesaler registered in the UK with ABTA). I found out about this just looking at the UK Swan Hellenic website on January 5th and immediately called the US Swan Hellenic office and she told me she was very sorry, that she had just found out the day before, and I should cancel our flights which we booked separately to and from the Canary Islands. She said she would call me back with more information, but nothing so far. What a nightmare!

  3. We are Canadians and will be ending a cruise at the port of Muscat, Oman. We will arrive at 9am, stay onboard overnight, then depart for the airport the following day for a flight leaving at 12:45pm (therefore approximately 28 hours in Oman). Do you think we will need a visa?
