  1. We stayed in the GV on the Gem And the Jewel.  Once during the Super Bowl.  We had a Super Bowl Party and had the Butler deliver invites to our M & Greet friends.  It was a blast. We asked the Butler for suggestions on food.  He said "You're in the GV, you can have anything you want"  so he provided typical party eats.  And even offered to be the bartender.  Made us feel like kings.  We are by no means rich but at that time you could get an upgrade offer.  The other couple we were traveling with gave up their balcony and with a couple $$ we were in.

on the other trip, we surprised our friends that didn't know we were on the ship.  We had the butler invite them for a tour of the villa.  They were shocked to see us and were able to move their things into one of the cabins.  So many memories.

  2. We've been on many cruises & love being in the Haven. We usually cruise while school is in session so we've never had a problem with kids taking over the pool or spas. Most times the courtyard was empty. No matter where you go during school break or June, July, August, you have to know there will be kids. Yes you're paying top $ to be in the Haven but to me all the amenities make it worth it.

  3. We love sailing in a suite. We tip the Butler and Concierge based on how much we use them. If we're sailing on the bigger ships with the Haven proper, we don't utilize the Butler as much. Maybe to order lunch on a port day if the restaurants are no longer open. We've always had a great time. We travel while kids are in school so most times there aren't many children onboard. The NCL Crew is what brings us back to NCL. I must say as of last year I did notice a change in crew attitudes. Last year on the Breakaway and this past February I wasn't pleased with the Concierge. (happened to be the same one) He had an attitude. His assistant Lilly, was terrific. I actually tipped her more. I think after Kevin O'Sheehan left, NCL started to "nickel and dime" even the crew aren't happy with some of the changes. Sorry I'm all over the place here but we always felt like family on NCL and now it's different. But we will continue with the "suite life".

  4. Thank you for sharing. We go in September on the Escape. Getting excited. We'll be in the Haven. I was wondering if anyone knows if the Haven menus have changed. We just went in February on the Breakaway and they were the same. Hoping they are a little different on the Escape.

  5. We fell in love with the NCL Breakaway, and 7 day Bermuda cruise last year. At first we thought, oh you only get to go to one location, but it was worth it. Here is a quick video of some of the sights we were able to visit on the 3 days in port.

I watched your video. Can you explain how you got to the caves? We'd like to take our granddaughter when we cruise on the Breakaway May 8th.

  6. We keep coming back to NCL. We have so many crew friends that we still keep in touch with. They're like family. We love starting vacation the minute we get onboard. No stress for us with flights to catch and luggage weight. We're 40 min. from the pier. love it!:D

  7. Awesome review. We'll be leaving on the Breakaway 11/17/13 with a friend that really loves Fire & Ice. Was it mentioned how much longer they will be on the ship? I know they do go home for the holidays so we're hoping they will still be onboard when we get there.

Did you talk to anyone staying in the Haven suites? Wondering what they had to say?

    Thanks again!!!!

  8. Met Eka on the Dawn in the Star Bar on our April 2006 cruise. She gave us one of our favorite Martini Clinics. I believe she's on Vacation right now and not sure which ship she'll be back on. If she's onboard when we cruise we track her down! :D But don't eat her mushroom soup! LOL

  9. I just booked Cabin # 10000 for the end of August which is a Penthouse Suite in the front of the ship.

It provides a wonderful view, but I am concerned that it might be too windy to use the balcony while at sea.

Has anyone had experience with these cabins?

    Don

Keep it clean we have the same cabin on Sept. 4th! I too was wondering about the wind. I'm also hoping we will be able to work on our tan while on the balcony.
