  1. This one tops them all. I live Florida and had my CC number stolen, the morons used it to buy train tickets from Chicargo to Oregon with reserved seats. When train stopped for a scheduled town, the police got and arrested them. They got 5 years in the slammer.

Sometimes things work out for the good.

  2. Maybe I will be the only negative response about SQ airlines. Or maybe it is to there over or under trained call center personel. I wanted to use AMEX points for a booking. I was given the itinerary from MIA to SIN and from PVQ to MIA with certain out of USA airlines to there gateway cities. After points where transfered, I was told that they do not do buisiness with one or two that where given to me. 3 nites of 10pm till 1:30AM, I was told that none of there Star Alliance partners would honor the points (160,000).

And points where not reversable. So I had to buy 2 tickets to JFK for outbound and 2 tickets from IAH to MIA.

So if you are going to use points with SQ, then get the route confirmed before you tranfer the points.

  3. Thanks a lot for that.

I am wrestling with the cost of it all ( $1899 pp) but you make it sound like an awesome trip.

Did not realise it was a chartered jet. That explains the cost of it.

You are right in saying that I will most likely never be back that way again.

If I wish to see machu Piccu then this is the only way i am gojng to be able to do it!!

Go and enjoy it, if you need anymore info or have questions, you can e-mail me at alanmal@aol.com

  4. I am looking at taking the 11/4 19 day cruise on the Norwegina Sun, the main reason being to see Machu Picchu and the Incas.

The excursion through the ship which is a 2 night/3 day is around $2000 each which is mighty expensive. I know it includes nights at a hotel ( not sure whcih one) and some flights etc.

My question is, is this worth it???

Did this 3 years ago on the repositioning on the Crown from Miami to Valpariso, was $1500.00 pp then. We where the 1st ones off the ship to the airport and flight to Cuzco. At the hotel we had hits of oxygen and green tea, rested, had lunch and then an xtensive tour of Cuzco, including a trip up to the rim of the city which sits in the bowl of an extinct volcano (about 13-14 thousand feet up). Dinner at the hotel with native entertainment. Up the next mornig, bus to train and the Hiram Bingham train down to Machu Pichu, about 5 hours, then back to Cuzco, another dinner with more native entertainment. The next morning back to the airport, and here is what you cannot book yourself. A chartered jet to meet the ship that had move onto the next port of Arica Chile, there are no flights between Cuzco and Arica. On Northbound repositions they do it in reverse. My friend is doing it in February with Princess and has to fly from Cuzco back to Lima to fly to Valpariso. Since you will probably not be coming back this way again, i say do it it is unbelievable as what you see at Machu Pechu. As it turned out we redid this trip with Celebrity with different ports except Lima and we did the flight over the lines at Nasca, the second time. Hope this helps.

  5. Free parking is provided on government property. The parking facility in Miami is county owned thus the free handicapped parking. The parking facility in Ft.Lauderdale is a private business so they are not required to offer free parking. I sure don't know why a person that needs hanicapped parking would feel insulted by this, why not just say thank you and accept the gesture.

2 years ago I personally spoke to one of the Broward county commissioner about this issue of handicapped free parking. "They" (to keep confidentiallity) said that the county would lose 4 million dollars a year if they allowed free parking. "They" backed the opinion on 1995 data when there where over 885,000 handicapped placards or plates in Florida.

In 1998, Florida, amended the medical form and everybody had to be recertifed only by: FLORIDA MD's OR CHIROPRATORS, not out of state doctors, the number dropped to 83,000. The commissioners in Broward county will never give 4 million dollar up. That is the real reason no free handicapped parking at Ft. Lauderdale airport or the port. Both Dade County and Broward County out-source the parking to private company's to run. They, the county's, make the laws...

  6. Miami offers free handicapped paking? Where? :)

Handicapped parking is free at the port of Miami amd at Miami international airport.

Also by act of our Florida legistlature it is legal to park by any meter with a handicapped placard or plate free for double the posted maximum time or if no maximum time is posted then you can park forever. This is any where in the state of Florida
