  1. Regarding the inside rooms, the only difference was the put in new carpet and re-upholstered the couch. I dont remember where our outlets were.

Around the ship they added water slides, new putt putt golf, added a kids water area at the main pool, they added izumi, and just the normal stuff like new carpet and stuff like that.

  2. how do they catch these prohibited items? i ask because recently I went on a cruise with a friend who is a first timer and i saw he had a travel steamer in his room and was shocked and told him it wasnt allowed but he didnt know. No one caught it obviously. He said it was in his carry on.

  3. Thanks for clarifying. So if she is not prime (though they put the prime sticker on her seapass?) and we did the cruise certificate cruise in March and she earned another 100 points (2400 from last cruise plus 100 = 2500)then she would be prime for the 4/2019-3/2020 year and would get a free cruise that would have to be taken during that period. Is that correct?

If she earned 2400 points after March 31, 2018 and earns at least 100 more before April 1, 2019, she will be prime for the April 1, 2019- March 31, 2020 timeframe and will be given the free cruise that must be used before March 31, 2020.

  4. So I just got off a free Oasis of the Seas cruise thanks to my gambling friend. While on that cruise, she reached prime by about day 2 thanks to a previous cruise in December being added.

By the end of this cruise she had earned 2400 points to earn a free cruise certificate. The cruises available all are by 3/31/19.

It appears that she will also get another free cruise because she reached prime? and it can be any 8-day cruise? Is that correct? Can anyone give me any details about when this will be available to her and when it would have to be use by? We are trying to figure out whether to book using the free certificate or if we can book with her free prime cruise. We'd like to pick our own vs. using one of the ones listed on the certificate and probably won't be able to do 2 cruises by March if they both were to expire by then.

    Any insight would be appreciated!

Ok, If she just got off the Oasis, those points are technically for the April 1, 2019- March 31, 2020. A december 2017 cruise would mean those points would go to the previous qualifying year, at which, once April 1, 2018 hit the qualifying balance would be reset.

I would call to make sure she is actually prime.

If she is prime, the free cruise is any 8 day or under cruise of your choosing in a inside room (can pay for the difference for other class of cabins) but it excludes all major holidays. If she is Prime for 2018 year, the cruise must be taken before march 31, 2019.

  5. Ok, so when I called the Casino number, they had indicated that benefits such as free drinks should begin once I reach 2500 on my upcoming cruise. It sounds like your response indicates that may not be the case now. It's not a show stopper, as we're already in a Star loft from our upgraded free cabin that we paid for a GS GTY, so we really are happy with the benefit we received. We don't have the drink package, and this would have been a great bonus. I will call again, and also speak to the casino host when I arrive. From reading this thread, when people made 1000 in the prior program rules, they were immediately given a VIP sticker, but I guess if I make 2500 now under the new rules, it won't take effect until the next program period?

    Thanks again for responding!

This is exactly how it was explained to me and worked for me. As soon as I reached 2500 points for qualifying for the April 2019-March 2020 year, on my next cruise I was prime. It’s EXACTLY like airline frequent flier programs where you get the benefits immediately even though technically qualified for the next time frame.

  6. Im confused then, on my last cruises in Dec 2017 and March 2018, when i had the sticker. both ships (Oasis and Adventure) I was entitled to free drinks, but they informed me that it means my plus one could have drinks too (my spouse) who is always with me in the casino, I never once asked for it. on my recent cruise I had the drink package so i never tried to getting a drink with my prime. I guess I will have to just see what happens in a few months :P

  7. May 2018 points is counted towards your status for April 2019-March 2020. So yes you will be Prime for April 1, 2019-March 31, 2020.

Points from January 2017- March 2018 qualified you for Prime status now.

Your points go down to 0 every April.

I was told that if you get the 2500 points now (After April 1, 2018) you will qualify for prime immediately and will be prime qualified from April 2019-March 2020 as well. In fact CR told me that the benefits are enacted immediately following a cruise so that if you were on a back to back cruise, the status would be effective.

    Honestly their communication is crap.

I do have a question, though. I know on the old system with the free drinks, my spouse was entitled to free drinks if i was with her in the casino, but under prime and the new system, is that the case?

  8. Thanks. I wasn’t asking about the free cruise certificate or cash in value. If I want to book through the casino how much off the published rate are casino rates? Typically take two cruises a year and donate a few thousand each cruise to the casino n

Casino Royal just recently changed their program, you would get zero discount or casino rate unless you earn it, which means they either send a physical discount certificate to your room, or they contact you in some manner to tell you that you are in a tier of their program that entitles you to discounts/free cruises. Also, you may receive emails/mailings for free/discount cruise.

if you do a few thousand each cruise (assuming its in slots) for 2 cruises a year, you probably would make it into the tier that entitles you to some perks (2,500 points--- this tier gives you free drinks in the casino and 1 free cruise a year). if you are purely tables games, that might be a stretch as they earn way less points. Again, you would be contacted in some manner if they casino royal program lets you use them for any form of discount bookings.

  9. A few months ago on the Adventure, we decided to go to Johnny Rockets for lunch, a 30 minute wait-list til a table would be available. wondered around while we waited, it was I think about 26$ total for two and it was better than I remember. I have been twice on oasis class and I thought it was average at best then. It seemed the price deterred no one on my last cruise.

  10. from my experience of having this sticker, the bar tenders on every ship I have had the sticker ask for my name and write it down on a piece of paper and is keeping track how many I have ordered. Sometimes i noticed they dont but for the most part they do indeed keep track. Im sure this information then makes it to the host. my guess is if you successfully transfer the sticker you could get away with it for one day and then you might have questions to answer with who knows what consequences. I must not that I dont know if the stickers are going to remain the same after the new system takes over.

  11. I have a question. In December I have coordinated a family Christmas cruise that leaves from Miami on a Friday. This cruise is booked by everyone and ready to go. I often receive comped cruises from Casino Royal but usually they are inconvenient times or not worth the flight for but recently I noticed a comped cruise that leaves from Port Canaveral but it arrives back the same day our Navigator cruise leaves Miami. I did notice google maps said its a 3 hour drive. So my question is, is this a feasible task, to disembark, rent a car, drive, return car and make the other cruise without issue or is this too risky time wise?

I couldn't find similar situations from my searches. Thanks for any input!!

  12. I would think it would be easy for Giovanni's to split an entrée for you. How they would charge for it, that's another question, but I found them to be very accommodating on our last cruise about sharing.

On my adventure cruise a few weeks ago, at Giovanni's we were given 2 entrees each even if we ordered only one, the waiter would bring more for us to try. so between 2 of us, we had 4 entrees to share. I don't know if that is the waiter being good or that Giovanni's allow more than one entree.

Also, I didn't see eggs Benedict anywhere on that cruise, little disappointing.
