Honeymoon day in San juan

I was wondering if anyone could help. My fiance and I are getting married in st Thomas on a carnival cruise. The next day we will be in port for about eight hours in San Juan. We would like to go to a more private place just the two of us, as we will be with a group of forty and thought we would take a day to ourselves. Any suggestions?? TIA!
We prefer a quiet beach with lunch. Resort style maybe. Had anyone rented a hotel room for a day and if so did they accommodate your cruise schedule?
