  1. Can you make your way economically back to MCO from your hotel? Hotel shuttle, Uber or Taxi? All of the popular shared shuttles will be happy to add a solo passenger there.

Check with Cocoa Beach Shuttle, CorTrans and Travelynx to see if they will pick up at your hotel - some pick up at some popular MCO area hotels.

I believe that my hotel said if I got transportation back to the hotel, I could wait for their shuttle to head out to the airport and hop on. Not sure if that was only if I used Laura's Shuttle.

  2. I did this. I booked the cruise I wanted on the Anthem, in an interior studio room, direct through Royal.

I then continued to search until I was told to try a certain agent. I was able to upgrade to a full balcony. Not only did I upgrade, I got $100 obc and free gratuities. Considering the obc and gratuities, I come out paying $55 less for the balcony, versus the 100 square foot interior studio room.

  3. Take a look at some of the online agents. I booked a studio and then a few weeks later got a great deal on a balcony. The base price was only about $150 more including the supplement, but they included prepaid gratuities and $100 OBC. After those two, it comes out $55 CHEAPER than the studio, and I get a REAL view, and if I am not mistaken, double points.

  4. When we sailed Quantum last year for 39 nights we actual cancelled our previous plans and switched to the Quantum repo. One of the main reasons was the introduction of DD. If for I had booked a ship with DD advertised and it was one of the main drivers for my choice only to turn have it pulled after payment I would be all over RCL for either a full refund or decent compensation for NOT delivering the product as advertised.

This is exactly why I and many people are upset about this. Even with bad reviews from others, I booked knowing that Dynamic Dining was part of the package and wanted to try it.

Please tell me how that is the case? I booked a cruise back in June and was sold a certain product/service. I am now not getting it because some people didn't like it, even though it was what they chose. I am past my final payment and was when the change was announced. I am now stuck with getting something I do not want, and if I cancel, I am penalized. Either way, I lose out on something I wanted, or lose money to leave.

  6. I have not yet read the whole thread, but here is my take on it.

Those that complained they did not like the Dynamic Dining were on a cruise and got exactly what was advertised to them and that they booked and paid for.

I will be sailing on the Anthem in December and will NOT be getting what was advertised to me, and that I booked and paid for. I was looking forward to Dynamic Dining with the four different restaurants. I would have like to have tried it. May I have had issues with it? Its possible, but I would have like to have tried it.

I read posts on Facebook and on here that people have been on ships with Dynamic Dining multiple times, and did not like it. The simple solution would be to either know what to expect when boarding, or to look into a ship that does not offer it.

I, and many others will not have the chance now to try something they were looking forward to.

  7. I recently purchased a Canon Rebel T5, and plan on taking it on my next cruise.

I'd really like to take it on some water based excursions, but cannot find a single waterproof housing besides a universal bag. This surprises me, considering the popularity of this model camera.

Has anyone used any waterpoof bags for their camera? How did it work, was the camera safe? Did it still take good photos?

I'm looking into a Dicapac brand bag.

  8. I LOVED La Mission. It was delicious! Huge portion and very affordable. I got three tacos with rice, beans, guacamole. The first brought me out some toasted bread, and chips and salsa, then a bowl of soup, and then my entree. All that and a coca cola was only about $13 with a tip.

  9. I highly advise NOT staying in Times Square and then leaving for the port in NJ on a Tuesday. Traffic will be horrific and all it takes is one accident on a main road (Turnpike) to shut it down and you missing your cruise.

This is why I love the ferry. Worst comes to worst, you could walk to it from Times Square and then catch a ride from the ferry terminal in NJ.

  10. I just booked onto the Anthem of the Seas for the December 9th sailing out of Bayonne. Super excited!

I'll be sailing solo in an interior studio. Does anyone know if the virtual view in the studios have the balcony overlay, or are they just a virtual window? I know its a small detail but I was just curious since it is a smaller screen above the bed.

Also, what are some thing I should know about sailing solo on such a large ship. I was solo on the MSC Divina, but she doesn't have that "mega ship" feel. Things to do? I'll be hitting up the gym until then to try and meet the weight limit for RipCord, lol.

    Thanks in advance!

  11. I'm going to be booking a cruise for myself on the Carnival Sunshine going to Canada and New England in October and want to know what the best option for dinner time would be.

I am 26, and would prefer to be seated with a more mature group of table mates, no kids or teenagers.

I'm thinking the later seating would be a better choice. Is there any way to request such a table?
