I saw it also, it was a Sky suite. Maybe because the sailing still has so many open.  Have you checked the price to actually book?  That could be why also.

Yes it is for the Sky Suite BUT there are none showing available for our sailing...that's why I thought it was odd?!

Just saw this on my move up bid ( just like this in Red):

Pricing above reflects a 20% discount to normal bid pricing. Act fast, as this promotion is only valid for a limited time.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Appeared today on ONE of my three bids. I am sure it just appeared today too because I check daily.

    Thanks

We had some on the TA but I would say 2-3X more out of Southampton.   Still hearing from those that departed the second cruise out of Southampton reporting testing positive after getting home.    Also hearing from some of the Crew that just were sent to Deck 3 today after weekly tests.

It's like all other diseases it is impossible to point fingers but with the 2X passenger load, no masking or social distancing it is easy to spread quickly.

For me I would definitely say the cruises out of Southampton was where I was infected.   I tested postie on the 10th day of the 11 night cruise.    Iain tested positive on the 11h day.    They usually say infection incubation is 5-10 day.

I don't want to point fingers but I suspect we caught it from crew.   We were never close contact even with a mask with other passengers.   The under the table synopsis  is that a Passenger in the Penthouse on the TA had a party and had close contact to four RS passengers.  4 days later we lost our first Cabin Attendant  and then about 3 days later another stateroom attendant and our Butler.

Our butler was in our room 3-4 times a day and we tried to get our masks on but could also have been touch contact.

I suspect it is the crew also. I really think Celebrity needs handle this. I can only think the crew keeps circling it until everyone has it. I can avoid my room being clean, but how do you avoid eating? Still haven't decided what to do. If I didn't have to  test to return to US, I wouldn't care.

  5. Like I said on my previous post, I knew there wouldn't be a decision until late today. Now I think they will say we are going to Bermuda, but stipulate that there maybe a last minute change when we are on board, or we will leave Bermuda early to run away from Jose.

dcjerseygrl - if this is your 1st cruise don't go. Cruising is a wonderful vacation and plenty of people get turned off to it from one bad experience.

  6. I'm sailing on the Epic on 3/9 in the Haven, and I sincerely hope we don't encounter the issues finding a lounger we did around the main pools on past cruises. That's one of the reasons I decided to spend the extra $$$ on the Haven experience; to get away from the chair hogs and enjoy a secluded...well, haven. If I have to compete with folks who are buying day passes to POSH for the price of a dinner in a specialty restaurant, then the whole Haven thing seems like so much marketing malarkey (I knew one day I would get to use that word).

You will be fine. The only times I have heard this happening was on a Christmas cruise or President's cruise. Cruises that have a large amount of children pushes people out of the Courtyard area to the Posh area.

You will love the Epic Haven and all it's perks. After the Epic try cruising on the Jewel, Pearl or Gem haven...that is where you will enjoy a complete tranquil secluded haven.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  7. I bought a posh pass last week on the Epic. There were kids up there daily. Probably 12 teenagers were in and out many were lounging around. They were not unruly at all but they were there and nobody asked them to leave.

Also, the service at in posh was not that good at the bar. There was a friendly waitress named Carol but the 2 male bar tenders were miserable!

I wouldn't buy a posh pass again. It was too crowded

Thank you!! Thank you for confirming it was too crowded!

Thats not normal up there...but it was last week! NCL should acknowledge this and realize their limits on how many passes they can sell and WHEN!!!!!

  8. In a hospitality and customer service industry the vendor should know it's market. ALL cruise lines must know when a busy week with over booking of children will occur. As noted by David in a previous post NCL KNEW that the 2/16/13 sailing of the Epic was going to be full of kids. I cruise that week every year and I knew.

I book the Haven when I can. I book and pay extra for the secluded areas that it provides. I book to be able to get a chair without having to get up at 7:00am. On my first Epic sailing this area was open to ONLY Haven guests- deck 18 foward. I expected that this sailing. I also had the pleasure of never having to get up at 7:00am for a chair in Posh. I think that week NCL didn't sell any Posh passes or maybe only a few ( unlike this week...IF I post my review I can state what I know).

Having had that deck open to the public and selling TOO many Posh passes that week was not right. Had I known any of this I would have never paid for the Haven on the Epic.

  9. I think some posters don't see the logic in the OPs post, which proposed to add a guest to a Suite AND pay for the guest to sleep somewhere else. Why shouldn't they recieve all benefits? Perhaps the computers/luggage can't handle it, but by the logic of money, NCL and other perked customers are in no way being ripped off by a non-paying person from a non suite part of the ship.

I agree! My mom usually cruises with us. I would gladly pay for her to be in our Haven suite and get her an inside cabin. She likes to nap during the day and it would be nice for her to have a cabin to go to besides the noisy Haven suite ( where we are coming in and out of). She is also an early riser and she has to be quiet not to wake up my kids. NCL would benefit by double paying and a Haven suite holds 6 so why would it bother anyone when they double booked.

I think NCL has to allow it on paper and then it can be done. Unfortunately they don't. I have tried also.

  10. Ha! I will try and get out promptly but I am not making any gurantees :)

Good to hear great things about the concierge since I never met him before. I plan to blog at least once or twice from the ship here on CC. But that also depends on how slow the connection is. So check in for any "live" updates I may have. It will be interesting to compare reviews since we are in the same suite back to back.

I will try and post about the cocktail party. We made the plans for it being Monday night. I switched the entertainment that day. The pre-concierge told me TWICE it is sunday night. But everyone on CC states it is Monday night. I trust CC more than NCL ;)

I cant believe this time next week I will be packed. Now that I think of it, maybe I should pack for 2 weeks and do a back 2 back. I am sure you can find another suite :)

    :)

    NOT!!!!
