  1. I was on the Splendor Jan. 3 sailing. Ports were Amber Cove DR, St. Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk. The weather was beautiful and the waters were great. Swim wear, shorts, sun dresses were the attire. I never saw hoodies, as another poster mentioned, but maybe we had an exceptional week. Also, I can't comment on HMC in Jan., but the other ports were incredible and immensely enjoyable at this time of year. I wouldn't hesitate to book another Jan. cruise. Enjoy!!!

  2. I started the year off right…with a CRUISE on Jan. 3 with my sister. We had an amazing time on the Splendor. I swore I would do a review, but haven't had the time…and now I'm afraid it may be too late. We ended up getting a bounce back offer from the casino, so I'm taking my 23 yr. old daughter on the Sensation in June. Woo Hoo! Can't wait!!! Then just yesterday, my husband and I decided to book the Conquest for August. I'm so freaking excited! I could cruise anytime…anywhere! This is the LIFE! Who's with me?

  3. I agree with the poster about planning your "big excursion" in St. Marteen. I LOVE Grand Turk, but you don't need an excursion there. San Juan doesn't excite me…I've been twice and have stayed on the ship both times and enjoyed it immensely. Not familiar with St. Kitts. I have a friend that did the regatta excursion in St. Marteen and loved it. St. Marteen is beautiful…great beaches, the airport, good shopping. I've not done an excursion there either, as we spent our day shopping for a ring and then hung out at the beach at Great Bay. Lots of places to eat and drink, etc.

We were just on the Splendor in Jan. You'll love it. You've got a nice itinerary too. If you have any Splendor questions, just ask. Enjoy your trip!

  4. I was on the Splendor Jan. 3-10. We had beautiful weather. We wore capris, summer dresses, shorts, summer tops and sandals in Miami and all throughout our cruise. We went to St. Thomas, San Juan, Amber Cove and Turks and Caicos. The waters were a little rough a few times…more than I remembered from our summer cruises, but not enough that would ever keep me from cruising in Jan or Feb again. I thought it was a wonderful break from Winter! Enjoy your Winter cruise if you decide to book.

  5. Glad you enjoyed your cruise. I was on the Splendor just 2 weeks before you. I intend to write a review, but I'm just super busy at work right now. When things slow down, I'll work on writing one. In the meantime, if anyone has any questions, I can try to help by answering them. I know I LOVED reading anything about the Splendor in the months prior to our trip!

Just a quick note….I loved this trip and this ship. The layout was great. We had an extended aft balcony on the Verandah deck. LOVED it! The aft area of the ship is just awesome.

  6. We were on the Splendor 1-3 sailing. It was AWESOME! I should and maybe might write my first review since I've enjoyed reading so many of them here. They have certainly helped build excitement and I've learned so much from so many of you! Plus it would probably be fun to relive my cruise through a review. But in the meantime, if there are any questions, just ask away!

On another note, the cruise bug has bitten me bad! I just booked another and I'm so excited! We're going to be on the Sensation on June 11. Yeah!!! Something else to look forward to. I'm so hooked! What can I say, cruising makes me a happy girl!

  7. I just got home from the Splendor (was on the 1-3 sailing). I purchased the Social media package for $25 for the entirety of the cruise. I used Facebook Messenger to keep in touch with home, just as you're planning to do. It worked great! I posted pics to FB daily with no problems and speed wasn't an issue. For $25, its well worth it and works great if you want to stay in touch with someone using FB Messenger. Enjoy your cruise!

  8. It's Wednesday night and I haven't packed a thing! I have a pretty jam packed day tomorrow and our flight is Friday at 6am! I'm so excited and should be packing right now! OK…I'm going to pack now. But just had to post that we are so close to this much awaited cruise. Splendor and Eastern Caribbean, here we come!

  9. I've only been on 2 cruises so far and they were a LONG time ago…so this is fun to think about.

Jubilee--5 day Western Carib. out of Tampa. Inside cabin. Loved everything about it. But it's weird that I can't recall really specific things.

Triumph--7 Day Eastern Carib. out of Miami. Balcony!! I was in awe at the atrium. So pretty!! Loved our Lido deck balcony…that was the BEST and has spoiled me, as I don't think I could ever cruise again without one. I remember playing some Billy Joel on the grand piano in the promenade and having a small crowd gather. I remember my young sons getting ice cream 5 or more times a day :).

With as wonderful as our first 2 cruises were, it's hard to believe that we haven't cruised since. But that is changing, as we're about 80 days away from being on the Splendor. I know so much has changed (like the ships being much bigger!) and I can't wait to be on a ship again….and booking another one!
