Was reading that other post and when I saw the title of this one I was thinking exactly what you said there!

You just beat me to it LOL

We will board the LIBERTY on March 26th. I would really appreciate it if one (or more) of you would answer the following questions when you get back home? I was on it quite a few years ago and liked it then, but it may have changed

 

Does the spa have free saunas, steam room and rain showers?

 

If you do anytime dining, how is it?

 

How was the entertainment?

 

What is the best thing about the ship? Any negatives?

I'll try to answer as many of those questions as I can when I get back:)

Just a note: I've always done the Your Time Dining on Carnival's ships and it's always been a pleasant experience for me. The last time was on the Valor in 2014, and even though we never had the same table each night, the servers were all very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Here's hoping that the great dining room service continues!

We'll be on the first part of the cruise. We board in San Juan in just over 5 Days. Can't wait! :)

Enjoy!!!! We're those people that you might see bypassing the long embarkation lines with lots of shopping bags. Everyone's checking in for the first time, but we're just trying to get back to our rooms after a long day:D

It's so funny because we always get everyone halfway through their cruise, and San Juan is just a (really long) port day for us. So we leave early to go shopping while everyone else is disembarking, and when we come back, there's a whole different ship full of people on board LOL

8 more days left! Most people do the San Juan round trip, but we've always done the Barbados round trip (same islands, different starting point with zero hassle to board:D)

We've been booked since May last year, so it feels like we've been waiting FOREVER!!!!

The staff has always been extremely polite and friendly. It's amazing how much good service makes a vacation extra great.:)

Also, I love that they do the Southern Caribbean round-trip out of Barbados every Wednesday. This means I don't have to fly...15 minutes drive from home to the cruise port, no hassles checking in, and we get to avoid the large crowd that boards in San Juan :D

We've only been on two cruises so far, both 7 days. For the first one, I actually lost a pound or two (although that was my honeymoon cruise, so there was lots of exercise going on;) )

For the second one, I came back the exact same weight, mostly because I love fruit, hate the sensation of being overly full and probably had two glasses of wine and a cocktail total as for a alcohol is concerned (I prefer juice and water).

In addition, we tend to take the stairs and do a LOT of walking around the ship as well as in port. :)

The bread basket in the MDR. And the hot chocolate...so good!

I totally agree with the bread basket in the MDR! Hubby loves it so much now that he hardly bothers with an appetizer :D

I've never been on the Miracle, but this was a really great review! Enjoy all your future cruises:)

Felipe was the CD on our first cruise (May 2012, Carnival Victory) and he's been the most energetic cruise director we've had. Wooo Hooo!:)

DH and I sleep in on sea days, then head to the MDR around 11 or so for the Sea Day Brunch, which is a real treat (we're usually on very port intensive cruises, so it's the only time we don't have early room service:) )

Afterward, it's back to the cabin to watch the Love and Marriage show and snooze for a bit before we head on up to Lido to watch the Hairy Chest competition:D

The rest of the day we just play it by ear:)

Your husband would probably feel better with the copy of the Fun Times so he can plan his day, though. :)

We live in Barbados, and there's always a Carnival seven day Southern Caribbean round-trip that leaves on Wednesdays.

We chose this for our honeymoon and we were blown away by the food and excellent service. I can't speak for what others may have experienced, but every cruise we've taken since then with Carnival has been a very pleasant experience.

Plus, as I said, it's not like we have to fly anywhere...there's nothing like living where a ship home ports.:D

We'd love to try another line and itinerary at some point, but frankly, the cost of flying plus a hotel stay, plus a cruise just gives me a headache:(

The other lines that leave from here are either too expensive or really old, so really, Carnival is pretty much the default option. That being said, I still can't wait for my next cruise with them.:)

Insurance won't save your life.

 

In other words, you don't want to attract someone to go after you for your rings because something bad could happen and insurance won't do anything if you lose your life.

This is quite true. However, our wedding rings really aren't flashy and are not that expensive (we married fairly young and were on a budget). My engagement ring is a very dark sapphire set in white gold. Most people just assume it's silver and there's no flashy diamond to attract attention.

However, if our rings were truly as expensive as some of the beautiful sets I've seen, then we absolutely would keep them at home. I'd even be afraid to wear them at home.

I actually live on a Caribbean island, so of course I wear my rings here...it's home. The Caribbean will always be home to me...and no matter where you are, someone can threaten your life for your possessions.

I really do appreciate the seriousness of your comment, though...it's always important to be careful, no matter where we are.:)

We've never left our wedding rings at home, but they're always insured (our own company, not the cruise line's), so we're careful, but we don't worry too much.

We we will take them off if we go in the sea, though.:D

We've actually only ever done the YTD, and it works for us. We do usually end up in the same section every night, though.:)

I'd love to say Barbados, but as I live there, I think I may be a bit biased, so I'm going to have to go with St. Lucia, because it's so lush and green. It's beautiful and I feel so relaxed there :-)

Hi, I know this reply is months late, but oh well :-) I've done this itinerary twice out of Barbados, since I live there.

We do a separate drill just before the ship leaves the island; in Puerto Rico, we just stay out of everyone's way while the new arrivals are having theirs :-)
