  1. My claim got denied by Scott too. (Exact same message)

I replied about no one being able to match this exactly and thus the price guarantee being basically unusable but I gave not got a reply yet.

If you can get booking information from another guest that got the claim approved (I believe it was their booking number and claim number? Not entirely sure, but guest services can tell you) they will review it. But by that point for me it was the holidays and I was tied up w family obligations and work and wasn't going to hound a stranger on a message board for their booking info. I was also concerned that Scott would possibly rescind the claim approval for the other guest and I wasn't willing to risk that. After the holidays when I tried to take up the issue again it was too late and my time to submit a claim had passed.

  2. Awesome, that’s who replied to me too. Did you try twitter? I generally get better response from companies there. And I’ve got an entire year to argue with them.

Ugh, Scott! What is his deal?!?

I did not try twitter. I was honestly so shocked that it initially got denied that it took me a day or two to form a response. So many had gotten approved, including people on my same cruise, so I just took it as a given that my claim would also go through.

I'd for sure escalate and see if there is someone above Scott you could speak to. It's unfortunate that people can provide the same claim but approval depends upon the guest services employee you get.

  3. I submitted price match for this same excursion and was rejected because "Our tour of Lamanai cuts down the overall travel time by an hour each way (2 hours travel time) by utilizing an exclusive route not available to other operators, thus providing us the luxury of completing the tour in 6 hours allowing gusts to maximize time in port. Guests can experience the breath-taking experience of the tour of the site in a leisurely paced 1 hour 30 minutes, which we can extend if the group needs more time. This provides the time for guests to actually climb the temples, providing an experience of a lifetime. Additionally, our world class facilities at Ayinha Eco Park further enhances the guest experience with a safe and secure restaurant and bar facilities that can comfortably seat 300 guests at a time. These facilities are exclusive to our guests and were developed to offer a Belizean cultural experience. "

I replied back showing screen shots of the identical travel time. What else can I do? Seems like others were able to get this matched without issue.

I received the same response. I replied with the fact that people going on our same cruise submitted the same claim and received the price match (I saw this from my cruise roll call.) Scott with guest services wasn't having any of it. He was kind of a dick, actually. So, full price it was. Turns out, at least 4 couples on our bus had gotten the price match, and that was just the people we spoke to sitting near us on the way back. I am still pretty ticked about it. Not a great first impression with Carnival.

  4. Hello Can somebody give me some pointers on how to start? I looked up online Keto WOEing and getting myself confused. I would appreciate any help to get started.

    What are you confused about?

What does your diet look like now? I suggest starting by cutting out all wheat-based/processed carbs if you are currently eating those. Then a few weeks later cut out starchy vegetables. Of course you can just go straight keto from the jump, but if you are truly interested in making it a lifestyle change I think easing into it is better if you are currently eating a lot of processed foods and/or carbs.

Focus on meats and eggs, healthy fats, and non-starchy vegetables.

There is a book by Leann Vogel called The Keto Diet that you will find incredibly helpful.

  5. I removed the slash at the end of the url I copied from the website and it was accepted. Fingers crossed for the obc.

Hi! Wondering if your request was accepted? I submitted a price match request (providing a different private vendor) and was denied. Guest services said they could get us there 30 mintues faster, so it's not the same trip. Yet someone going on the exact same cruise, same excursion, submitting same private vendor as I did was accepted. So frustrating!

  6. Another vote for Woodwind if not already booked up. My husband was very new to snorkeling and he LOVED it. They even had a full face mask for him to use instead of the normal goggles, which really helped him relax and feel more comfortable. They take you out in 2-3 groups depending on your experience level and provide as much support as necessary. Amazing value, as well. The price is decent for just the snorkeling but they also provided a wonderful full meal with dessert afterward, along with rum punch.

  7. I love reading your posts, and how well you are doing.

Do you think it is going to be difficult on the cruise to stay LCHF? Any advise you can give me, would be appreciated.

I have about 10kgs left to loose and it's coming off supper slow. Only lost 1.5kg this month. But at least it's a loss. Have decided to only weigh monthly now as the scales were going up and down to much.

I am concerned about our cruise in November as I don't want to undo all my hard work.

I think it is really easy (option-wise) to stay LCHF on a cruise. The breads and breakfast pastries are all pretty generic, IMO, so they are easier for me to avoid, despite the fact that I used to love a danish or donut in the morning with coffee. On our last cruise I did have dessert almost every night (sweets are my weakness,) pizza once or twice when we were too tired to even make it to the buffet for dinner, and maybe two fruity-type alcoholic drinks our entire ten days. We are incredibly active on our trips and generally gone the entire day in port so I'm not around food all day and also burning A LOT of calories. I think it is really important to go into the trip with a strong diet and no "cheats" or bad days for a while before. If I go into it with a fat burning body it is so much easier to avoid the sugar. If I go into it wavering, or with recent cheats, I'm going to have a much more difficult time saying no to the little things.

My advice is the same I dish out for everyday life:

    1. Ask them to not bring bread to the table at the start of dinner. This can be a huge trap for me, so just not having in front of me is the best option.

    2. If you want [carb] that's fine. Fill your plate with your protein/fat, eat all of that, and if you STILL want your carb item, eat it. I find that most of the time I am too full for it, or I will have one bite and realize, ugh, this wasn't as good as I had imagined.

    3. If you are a drink lover have 2 waters for every alcoholic drink.

    4. If you really want a dessert and don't care for the sugar free option, have it, enjoy it, move on.

I don't know about you but eating LCHF/keto has made a world of difference in my general health as far as digestion, migraines, energy. Now that I have been keto for 2 years, LCHF 3 years prior to that, I can REALLY feel the negative effects of carbs pretty quickly and severely. I still have to remind myself of that when tempted.

    Good luck! Enjoy yourself!
