Thanks Essiesmom. :)
So in a worse case scenario once we have completed the online check in we could step on board at 3 pm and still be ok?

Anyone know what time Carnival starts boarding at Port Canaveral?

I can't believe that they did not tell you the embarkation time when you booked the cruise.
Booked online and it says online check in is not until June 30, I thought that was just standard.
Flights not booked yet and we can change our hotel booking dates in NYC so we will be arriving in Orlando a day early.
Thats what these boards are all about, thanks for all the advice everyone.

The best advice is don't even try it unless you are using cruise air to get from NYC to MCO.
Thanks for all the replies, what is Cruise air?

We will be cruising for the first time on Carnival Breeze in September from Port Canaveral and the week before we will be in NYC. Our plan is to fly down on the morning of the cruise, jump on a shuttle from the airport to the port hopefully getting to the ship around or before 1pm. Of course we will not know our embarkation time until later in the year.
Can anyone who has done this see any problems with it re flight delays, shuttle delays, roadworks etc?
All advice appreciated.

Thanks for all the advice we are looking at Carnival Breeze in late September, bit of a worry about Hurricane season but what can you do?
Cheers for the welcome.

You don’t say how many family members will be traveling and if you have kids and their ages. That does matter when looking for a ship.
Just one daughter and she will be 10 next year.

We are an Aussie family who will be in the USA Sept 2019, we have never cruised before and would like our first to be in the East Caribbean. Initially I was pricing RCCL cruises because of the bigger/newer ships but the more reviews I read the recurring theme seems to be that the food is no longer as good amongst other complaints. To me the Carnival ships look older, NCL seems more expensive etc, etc.
Looking for some advice pls.

Could I get some pros and cons for cruises to the western Caribbean versus eastern Caribbean, thanks in advance.

Great advice and tips so far thanks, looks like we will be flying down to Florida to start the cruise.

We are first timers (2 adults and 1 child) from Australia who will be in New York in September 2019. We are interested in a 7 day cruise and we are looking for suggestions, the Caribbean, New England, Bahamas have been mentioned and my wife would like to leave from NY, is this feasible. We would also like to end the cruise in Miami so that probably rules out New England. Any advice is appreciated.
Insurance question please.
