  1. We were on Norwegian last year and because we had bought the OBC we went to the cashier cage and were not charged a fee. If our travel agent had put OBC on our account we would have been charged. We had $2,000 total OBC and withdrew enough to play with and shore excursion money for the next day. Hope this helps.

  2. We have been on many cruises and only had to have our passports with us in port once and that was St. Petersburg, Russia and that was because we went through customs each day we were there. Other times we have been told to have our passports when exiting the ship but we have never done so ie Venice. Our passports remain in the safe in our room and we have a photocopy of each of our passports' main page.

I have heard conflicting stories about whether or not we will be required to take our passports with us when we dock at Kusadasi. Anyone with recent experience there? Thank you so much!

  3. I have read a few conflicting reports so wanted to see if anyone had a recent experience with the following:

We can buy OBC from Norwegian which is a heck of a lot less expensive than buying US at the bank (we are Canadian). Now some people have said that they were not allowed to use their OBC at the casino. Others have said that you can but must pay the 3 pct. charge. Yet others have stated that they could use it without the 3 pct. charge. Anyone out there have a definitive answer? I do not want to buy OBC and find out that I can't use it for all my onboard expenses! I could phone NCL but I find that the "reps" don't seem to know much at all and on other issues I have had conflicting answers. Anyone know for sure? Thanks

  4. So after reading this thread I have some questions. I can buy OBC from NCL. If I do that and use it as a cash account can I use the money for anything onboard including the casino? I was reading another thread where someone did this and was told once onboard that they could not take it out for the casino and yes, they had bought their own OBC.

I don't want to get onboard and find out I can't use some of the money for the casino! It is hard to find the answer on the NCL site.

Anyone out there know for sure? Thanks guys!
