No intention of cancelling and whilst looking forward to it still have some mixed feelings based on general feedback/comments so far, rather than on this one very negative review. Thank you all for taking the time to keep us updated of your experience.

There are lots of ‘Cunarders’ who prefer QV - I like her Queens Room and Commodore Club but prefer QM2 overall, especially the Chart Room and Golden Lion and of course the promenade deck. I am not liking the look of the Queens Room or the promenade deck on QA but will reserve judgement on the rest and hoping for the best.

Just read a very negative review on CC by someone who is currently on QA. I have mixed feelings about boarding in July but will try to go with an open mind and embrace the difference. I hope some others from the maiden and current voyage will post reviews/impressions.

I will be taking a chance and taking my usual haul!

I would also add that you have a better experience in terms of being closer to the sea in a sheltered balcony on decks 4/5 with uninterrupted views (when standing!).

Thank you for taking the time to post during and after your cruise! We are on in July and like you think we will like some things more/less than the other Queens but excited to try.

Thanks for taking one for the team - but no thanks - looks like wasted calories to me! Delighted you have managed to get your next trip sorted and look forward to reading about your continuing experience on Queen Anne. Thanks again for your input!

I do not understand or comprehend how this has happened given you have booked Cunard fare and chosen your cabin. Sounds very suspect and unheard of to me. Hope this matter is resolved soon in your favour.

The additional cost for speciality dining has been noted in another post. No charge for blue lights but need to book once on board and most items in Golden Lion are still included except for a couple of Michel Roux inspired dishes including cheese on toast and burgers.

Things are not helped when passengers are shown to a table and as soon as the waiter has left, move somewhere else. I saw this at lunch and last night we had a gent moved to a spare seat at our table because others had parked themselves at his table.
Totally unacceptable and confusing for staff given table will have been allocated for a reason re: staffing/station. Selfish and not in the spirit of Cunard.

Has service (table and sommelier) improved in the main restaurants and what are people’s first impressions of the new Cunard Queen -now that you are likely getting your bearings?
-
I am also concerned that less choice/slower service in the main restaurants is a ploy to encourage people to use the alternative additional cost dining options.

Trying to use BA Avios so have to be in and out of Vancouver I think
My daughter and her partner flew to Toronto in October - did Niagara Falls and Quebec etc., then flew to Calgary where they picked up a car and did the sightseeing drive to Vancouver over 10 days. They flew back from Vancouver and flights to/from Toronto and Vancouver were booked with BA using Avios.

I must say I prefer the look/style of the PG cabins and restaurant compared to QG - good job that’s what we have booked!!

Thanks again.

I am getting holiday camp vibes from the Queens Room - basic and bland for easy maintenance! Also concerned about the wardrobe space - definitely not enough room to accommodate a two week cruise let alone a world voyage!

Having never done a fly/cruise before, what is the procedure once we land - I assume we collect our luggage and meet up with a Cunard rep for the transfer?
-
Thank you Watsonbeau!

Room service will deliver a jug of water (iced or not) on request to your cabin free of charge.

I have just rang Cunard with the same query - 22kg checked bag and 10kg cabin bag is included with Jet 2 via a Cunard booking. I have been advised that I cannot check in with Jet 2 prior to the flight but only on the day when seats will also be allocated.

Thank you in anticipation! We are on in July and looking forward to any input to this thread from those of you on Queen Anne’s maiden voyage.

Not sure about ‘the fun show’ - it is a political drama which has significantly raised the profile of the hundreds of postmasters wrongly accused of ‘faulty accounting’ which people still need to be held accountable for.

For me this would be a yes. A few years ago, I was witness to my friend being the victim of an attempted robbery/bag snatch literally minutes after being dropped off by taxi from the airport in the gothic quarter on route to our hotel.
