  1. I know there are 55+ cruises and there are single cruises, but are there any single over 55 cruises? I want to get my dad on one.

Being over 55 and also a single male may I make a suggestion. If you HAVE to GET your dad on one of these cruises Not a good idea. If he really wanted to do this he would have already done it. I think the singles cruises are way too pushy. My choice is a regular cruise and just let what ever may happen happen. I found few other singles on the cruise I was on but I had a very enjoyable time with the many other folks I met and plan to remeet this coming year.

I know that Dad is prabably not doing as well as you would like but guys sometimes need to do this on there own. Don't know where you are located, but if there is a Panera restaurant near by suggest that he go there for brakfast coffee and a bagel. Many good looking 55 plus ladies frequent my local Panera and I would imagine it is the same all over. Also a good crowd of other old guys so there are all sorts of friendly groups hanging out on any given day.

  2. On my first cruise this past April I kept a journal. It was great fun and got a lot of attention from fellow cruisers. Being an antique dealer, I always look for old journals and over the past several years have found a number of them including one from a family from Beacon Hill, Boston that was sailing to Europe the day after the Titanic sank. There were numerous references in the journal plus two newspapers with Titanic headlines. Very valuable.

So keep a journal and when you pass it on to your children tell them not to put it in the yard sale as there is a very strong market for such Memorabilia.

    Have fun!!
