  1. Glad to see I'm not alone. I'm a web developer as a living, and their website test my nerve on a daily basis :p

Also, depending of which web browser I use, I don't see the same thing. Safari show 0 excursions available, Chrome 84 and Firefox 56...

Since your cruise is booked in Canadian, everything you do going forward will be booked in the same dollars?

Yep, but over the phone, they offer me an exchange rate of 1.19 while on the website it's 1.07. I didn't want to argue too much since I knew I "should" be able to book myself online, but guess I will have to give them a chat once again.

  2. Hi all,

2 weeks ago, we tried to add credit and a 3 days diner package to our cruise.

We did it online, did the payment and got to the confirmation page where it say

Thanks you, Your order is Confirmed.

Your Shore Excursions, Entertainment, Dining, Spa, and Gift order has been added to

your reservation. You will receive an e-mail confirmation within 24 hours confirming your payment has been processed.

5 days later, nothing was showing so I contacted NCL and they said they have no trace of this transaction. Nothing was charged on our credit card neither.

Weirdest thing, an excursion we wanted to do in Tortola but couldn't add to cart was now on our Vacation summary, It wasn't on our Order summary...

3 days later, NCL sent an email asking to pay for the excursion or it would be removed in 24hours.. Having no way to pay online, we let the 24h pass.. It finally took them 3 days to remove it.

Last Friday, we remade the same procedure. Ordered credit and diner package. Got the confirmation screen, but same problem again!!

Nothing is shown on our MyNCL and the Tortola excursion that we didn't added to our cart is now in our Summary. No credit, no diner package/discount.

Nothing is charged to our credit card once again...

Anyone has similar problem with their web site?

It's our 3rd cruise with NCL and we always booked everything online. We try to do everything online since we have a great exchange rate (Canadian at 1.07) but it looks like we can't do anything right now. I will once again contact NCL, but I'm sure they will be clueless once again.

    Thanks for the help.

  3. When I was looking, flights from Buffalo were $208 and from Toronto $250 one way. Way too much, in my opinion. I can fly to Florida for half that. The train is more affordable ($63 pp one way), but the time are not convenient. But Megabus from Toronto to NYC is $15 pp. Drops you off in Times Square at 7am. I think it stops in both Rochester and Syracuse.

Same reason we use Amtrak and we are from Montreal! It's a 10 hours ride, but it usually cost $140 for the roundtrip. + being 6'5", I enjoy the extra space of the train vs bus.

Penn's Station is very nicely located and you will find a lot of hotels around. We are not a fan of Pensilvanya hotel. Between the ants in the shower, the bad service, the poor looking roms and the hallways that never end which has a small b-movie horror vibe, it's very close and fairly cheap for location. Don't expect too much.

  4. Are the price went up?

We are 90 days away from our cruise on Breakaway and Tappanyaki is the same price as Carney's ($38 CAD, so $30 US + grat and exchage rate)

La Cucina is also higher priced than our last cruise last feb. ($20us + grats and fees)

  5. I know it's not possible to cashout OBC given by NCL or TA, but How NCL know which is which?

We have $100 free OBC for our next cruise and have $400 that we paid for (at 1.07). I wonder if we get more and have some left, would they refuse to cashout $100 even if we spend the rest?

Wouldn't want to have $1000 OBC, having $500 left at the and of the cruise and loose $100 because they don't want to cashout this.

  6. That will probably be another 14 day Southern Carribean. In the past, they have had a 12 day Southern followed by a 2 day CTN during that timeframe.

Yup, we are doing the 12 day this year. Hope they post the new cruise soon so we could see what we book for next year. With Vista and Anthem, it could be another option.

  7. Nope. It must depend on when you booked. My 2016 sailing is 1.11.

If you use a TA, it's also depend on when THEY booked their cabins lot.

My dad just cancelled a January 2016 cruise from one TA to switch to another which had better price. His rate went from 1.19 to 1.07 like me.

Same cruise, same date.. It's a huge win for him since he save about $500 on the cabin + better rate for everything else.

  8. Also, for those of you who are leery of doing the Baths, NCL also offers a tour called "Beach Break" or something like that in Tortola. We really enjoyed it. The beach was gorgeous and there was a little drive to get there so you see some of the Island.

Just something to think about if you want an alternative. There were beach chairs and umbrellas.

Was it "Island Beach Break"? Do you remember which beach you went?

We will be in Tortola in december. Even if the baths looks great, a video on youtube made me wonder how a 6'6" guy with wide shoulder would enjoy it.. So we look for alternative.

    Thanks

  9. Exchange rate is kinda weird. For me, it looks to be 7%. When I look for $100 OBC, it's $107.60. Everything else is also 7%.

My dad is doing the same cruise 2 months after us and his is 19%. $100 obc is $119.xx and everything else is also higher priced than us.

    I certainly won't complain!

Our cruise back in february was on par 1:1.

  10. Interested to know also. Maybe they will offer more onboard?

They changed the time of our cruise for St-Lucia (Breakaway nov29 Cruise) and now they offer only 3 excursions (was 17 before!) Obviously nothing interest us and I have hard time to imagine 4000 peoples with only 3 thing to do..
