Hi everyone, just got off the Jewel and the ship looks amazing. There is still construction going on in the Haven garden villas (area above Moderno) and carpeting in various areas. Our itenarary was changed a couple of times while we were on board. Our arrival to Lagkawi was delayed by 3 hours however the captain extended our departure from that port til 7pm. Captain said that port officials from Lagkawi required the ship to travel at lower speeds due to many fisherman in the area, however an employee had already told us that there were mechanical issues. Our cruise had an overnight stay at Kuala Lumpur which was scheduled to leave on Nov 11th at 7pm however our time was cut short to 8am and we were informed that Singapore officials required us to arrive earlier (ship arrived at singapore on Nov. 11th at 11:45pm).  Other than that public areas look amazing! Enjoy your trip!

The longer the cruise the less families there will be onboard. I also recommend taking the specialty dining option as I've hardly seen any kids at specialty dining restaurants.

From a business perspective it all comes down to the company making able to have certainty of how their earnings report will look like, the sooner they lock down final payment from passengers, the better their quarterly earnings will look like... it's a smart move, the company will look be more appealing to stakeholders and this announcement is also done a day after their secondary public offering of 10M shares... all at the cost of flexibility offered to passengers.

While I don't mind paying for my vacation up front, I do find the timing weird, considering the new travel insurance NCL is now offering for those that have made their final payment. Also it seems like the change in policy was possibly due to the hurricanes that affected carribean ports that resulted in cruise cancellations. I love the norwegian brand and the convenience of traveling by cruise, but this change in their policy will definitely make me reevaluate if I'll keep traveling with them or not.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a rough idea of when 2018 cruises for Norwegian Joy will be available for booking? Currently, NCL website only has cruises for November and December 2017 onboard Norwegian Joy. I'm looking to book an Asia cruise for 2018 but NCL only has 3 cruises onboard the Jewel.
