  1. we did a TA last year. We notified Princess we would get off in Cork and get back on the next day in Dublin. Well, due to mishaps the schedule got changed so we just stayed on board. But, when we got to Glasgow on the new schedule, we had excursions to Edinburgh. I was ill, but husband went to get off and they wouldn't let him as our room keys had the last day of our trip as Dublin, and Glasgow was a day later. So he ran to the front desk with both room keys and had them changed. Unfortunately, when he went to catch the bus to Edinburgh, he was told the bus left.

In the evening our friends returned and informed him the bus driver held the bus for half an hour for him - no one on the ship knew it tho.

Saddest thing was that we did notice the date on our room key an d first day out went to front desk to let them know we were staying on the ship to the end of the trip. They had informed us that it would not be a problem. Well it was - and altho he missed the trip Princess did return my husbands excursion money.

  2. having read your plan for adjusting for elite status based on people reaching 150 days vs. more days, one perk you forgot is that once you start hitting your 20th cruise you receive an extra $25. in shipboard credits. And you continue with that. 15 trips doesn't get that. So there is an extra perk.

  3. Have eaten out the crab shack onboard Princess. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. The food came out and was very very greasy. It was all in one pot (forgot what it was called) for 4 of us. it was shellfish and corn on the cob and some other stuff. But the greasiness just turned me off.

Sorry, but I do love shellfish also

  4. the coffee cards are issued generally with the name of the ship you are presently on and the voyage number. The regular coffees are only good on the present ship. The coffee card is good on all ships for the specialty coffees until you get the 15 hole punches.

  5. I know this sounds strange, but since I live near Napa and have access to wonderful wineries, we have been known to ship a case to the hotel we stay in the night before the cruise. I give 1 bottle out to each of our friends (8 of us) and the remaining 4 I look for fellow passengers and ask if they mind bringing a bottle onboard for us. Believe it or not, we have always gotten all our bottles back and we always gladly share the wine.

But everyone is correct, 1 bottle each. Last trip friends actually took 2 bottles in each of their suitcases onboard, and were called aside to pay the corkage fees anyhow.

    enjoy your wine.

Hello. This is our first time cruising with Princess in October, can somebody tell us how much wine we can take on Diamond Princess cruise out of Sydney. We cant seem to find any wine packages on their website so we are hoping we can take a few bottles on with us.
  6. In case you are unaware, once you reach elite status, you can call room service the first day and have the mini bar items removed and get 2 free coffee cards. This works great for us as we don't drink or eat in the cabin. Besides, don't know what I would do without my afternoon cappuchino onboard. lol

  7. just remember, regular coffee thereare no hole punches for and you get unlimited amounts on your cruise. It is the specialty ones that require a hole punch. Also, we were told on the royal that 1 hole punch would get us an ice cream sundae in the ice cream shop. Don't know if that is so.

Thanks for the help. I will wait and buy the card on board.

Hopefully I will get an understanding barrista.

  8. we were on the Royal in an obstructed balcony last year. It was the least obstructed cabin I have ever stayed in. The obstruction was on the side of the balcony, not the middle. I did read tho that they were changing that. How I don't know.

    Good luck.

I booked cabin E511, an obstructed balcony, that appears to be in the middle of a lifeboat/tender. My PVP said that E327 between two lifeboats/tenders would have a better view and I switched cabins.

After spending hours reading cc and looking at pics, I am not sure that E327 is the best choice. It seems as if the davits take up a lot of space between the tenders.

Would appreciate feedback from anyone who has stayed or seen similar cabins.

    Thanks a lot.
