I'm also leaving out of Galveston in a little over 2 weeks or so and I've been wondering about the lines. Last time I was there it took us about an hour and a half to get through the line and onto the ship. I'm kind of excited to see how this staggered arrival changes things up. My SO and I have got a later time, which we hope will also mitigate the number of people trying to grab lunch so we can grab some quick food and then find our room.

Also, a lot of people try to ignore this warning. Please do not. The health and safety of all passengers onboard depends on everyone following the rules.
This happens on land too. I used to work for the Aquatics Department for my county. Cannot tell you how often parents would try to ignore these things and how quickly things can get disgusting when they don't.

But they will not show all of them. We were on Valor couple of weeks ago and they only played 5 or 6. Sunday night they showed football.
They show football? That's actually good news. My SO and I were a bit sad considering the Dream doesn't have a sports bar and we'd rather not go into the casino due to smoke. So this would be really nice to be able to catch something.

Oh nice! In between this and the deal RC has/had to build a cruise terminal Galveston will have some good options in the future.

Reminds me a bit of people who like to lord over others in regards to the status level on their cruise. Like it's a good substitute for having a personality sort of thing. Never did understand any of that. Don't understand taking pride in the ship either as I am not the shipbuilder or captain. I look at other ships and wonder if I wanna maybe take a cruise on it someday and that's about it. YMMV.

The wind (which is currently ranging from EF-4 to EF-5 tornado like speeds) as well as the wind and storm surge go out in a radius from the storm as well. Raking the coast will slow it weakening and might also force the maximum swell of the surge depending.
Not to mention there's also a ULL low in Lousianna that depending on what it does and when it does it, might force Dorian into Florida and prevent it from turning from what I've been reading? With the horrific damage being done in the Bahamas at the moment, and past incidents like what RCL did during Harvey, probably just safe to cancel ahead of time.

Didn't effect me in the least. It tasted better than the water we have here in Arlington.
So is that just an Arlington thing? I thought it was maybe just my apartment, haha.

I mean sometimes having a late night slice while you stare into the inky black after a long day of running around is a balm on a weary soul.

My SO and I looked into getting Cheers but considering it'd cost almost as much as paying for the cruise itself it just wasn't worth it. We'll probably get a single drink each as a treat and that's it. I'd wish they'd have middle ground but this is super profitable for them so don't think they will.

Hi y'all. Online check-in finally opened for me and my SO and this is our first cruise (and also first vacay that's just the two of us we've ever had! woo!) and I'm trying to wrap my head around some things.
1. Holds. Essentially if we put down a credit card since it's a 5 day cruise it'll put a 100 USD hold on the account. Any purchases made while on board go against this hold. So say we spend 75 on board the 25 dollars left that was put on hold is released? Want to make sure I got this right.
2. Cash deposits. Read that you can put cash on S&S account too? If we put a credit card on file does the 100 USD hold still get put in place? Will it hit the cash first then the hold?
How far in advance do you book?
