  1. I would say that 95% of our cruises have been with Royal. We have tried Celebrity a few times and enjoyed certain aspects and like mentioned before the entertainment does lack some what when compared to Royal, but the service and variety of bars certainly were on a different level. As for P&O well what can I say, there was a two year gap between our cruises with them and the differences were staggering. The first cruise we did the food, service and drinks were excellent but the entertainment was terrible, the one and only time I have ever walked out of a show was on P&O, absolutely terrible. The next time we sailed with them the food, service and drinks were the worst we'd ever experienced on a cruise so we made a pact never to sail with them again. Must say the glasshouse on P&O is the only shining light on these ships. So loyal to royal we are but with some of the prices that are currently on show for 2019 European sailings this might have to change too, how can it be cheaper to fly to the states and cruise then to sail from the UK?

  2. So for all the cruises we did in 2017 the drinks in the DL were all quite nasty; cheap wine, horrible spirits, warm beer etc. Even when there was an overspill bar on board we were told by the bar staff that they changed the spirits to the cheaper branded versions and had to swap them out once the "happy hour" had finished. So for all the fuss over not getting seats in the DL and no more overspill areas being opened up in other bars then if your really that desperate for a "free" drink then i say go to one of the other bars on board and use one of your vouchers and get a decent drink.

  3. So I have been monitoring the price of the drinks packages on a number of cruises we have booked and got over excited when i saw the email with the sale. I checked the prices in the "sale" and there is actually no difference at all to the prices as to what has been previously shown even with the so called "buy one get one half price" claim. Not sure how Royal can get away with these claims. On one of the cruises the price has gone up by £11 even withe the so-called "sale". REALLY?!?!?!

  4. We're flying out from the UK to PR in April to sail on the Adventure and getting decent flights has been a mission in itself. We fly out 2 days before we sail from London to New York on VA then from New York to PR with Delta and paid £750 rtn pp. Nothing direct from the UK at all hence the reason why we fly 2 days before. Fingers crossed everything goes to plan.

  5. Being in the UK we don't seem tomhave the same luxuries as yourselves of being able to take advantage of price drops etc. regardless of whether we use a TA or not. We have done around 37 cruises with 95% of them being booked direct with the cruise company, the odd occasion we have used a UK travel agent I can't say we have had any cabin deals, OBC or any extras thrown in. Would be interesting to see if we could use a TA from over the pond and still get the same deals as you all seem to be able to secure.

    Happy Cruising :-)
