  1. Thanks everyone for your responses! We did an open end booking before getting off the yacht so I was curious if there were advantages to moving it to our travel agent. We booked our first voyage through SeaDream and thought that they made the process very easy!

Northwoods - are the credits all spa credits or are there other things you receive credits for as well?

  2. It's so nice that Chrysler can send its folks on Seadream vacations, rather than using that money to pay back US taxpayers for the $1,300,000,000 in loans that were forgiven in its bankruptcy. Glad a nice Norwegian man is benefiting from my tax dollars.

I think that it may have actually awarded/provided by Mopar Auto Parts (not sure how much of a difference that makes). But I believe it was a reward for the Parts Departments owned by these Chysler Dealers for selling the most Mopar parts.

  3. We just sailed SDII last week (for the first time) and it included a large group (33 couples) that had won a sales promotion through Chrysler/Dodge (most of them being dealership owners). We may have gotten lucky, but they were a really great/fun group to sail with for the week. Very friendly and we enjoyed hanging out and getting to know many of them over drinks by to pool and TOY Bar. I could see how this could possible go the other way and you could end up with a group that may tend to stick together and not mingle with others, but luckily for us that was not the case.

  4. I have had Carib on board and like it too. You will find plenty of Carib on the Caribbean itineraries. We just returned from SDII and it already seems like it was 6 months ago. Have fun.:D

First timers going on SDII Feb 6-13, can't wait!!:D Seems like forever ago that we booked, so happy that it is almost here....especially with the cold weather and snow on the way! Perfect time to get outta here!

  5. It varies based on availability at whichever port provisioning takes place. I can attest there is always a decent selection, it is always cold, and there is plenty of it.:D

Thanks Jim! Ice cold and plentiful will do the trick :D Also looking forward to trying some of the local brews! I love Carib, but it is not too easy to find around here!

  6. We will be staying at the Morning Star for 2 nights before boarding SDII. I am glad to hear that it is close to town (and even walkable) since we are not planning to rent a car. We would definitely want to see a little bit of St. Thomas while we are there! If anyone has some good suggestion of something fun for first time visitors to STT, please share!

  7. Sorry the proper place for replying to this drivel is amongst chums.

Hum bets surfsunfun is thinking to himself: "All I did was ask about wifi onboard and these over-affectionate critters are a sproutin' up, here, there and everywhere ! Guess I'll try Windstar instead"

    Hahahaha

"Oh and they're crazy too !"

    Hahaha

Hum - I very much enjoyed all of you 'crazies' chiming in! I follow along with you all a little as I currently sit here anticipating my very first trip aboard SDII. It is hard to think about much else these days....and I still have 26 days to wait!

  8. How is the WiFi on board (we will be on SDII). I am not really worried about having much access to the outside world, sometimes I would rather not while on vacation! However, it happens that 2 events that I participate in every year both have their online registration open during our first 2 days on board and if without a quick internet connection I will most likely be locked out of the events. Are my chances good or should I recruit someone at home to get online and register for me? Thanks!

  9. You've just made one of the best decisions of your life. Get ready to enjoy the Caribbean at it's best, the service and food onboard will leave you in awe. Be sure to swim/jet ski off the back of the boat at least once when it's offered. You've chosen a great itinerary. Be sure to go to Shoal Bay in Anguilla, one of the prettiest beaches I've seen. I'm assuming your Splash will be at Soggy Dollar which is my favorite location that SeaDream uses! Have a blast, post back here when you return with your thoughts.

Thanks Pirate! From what I hear if you are going to plan a day to sit on the beach and do nothing much but take in the views and enjoy the sun, Shoal Bay is the best place to do it! We might just do that! Definitely hoping to jet ski and paddleboard off the back of the boat as well! JVD and Soggy Dollar are on my bucket list, well actually most of these islands are:)

  10. Greetings All! First time poster and Sea Dreamer here! We sail out of St. Thomas in 39 days and to say I am getting excited would be an understatement!

Any tips to share with a couple of first timers on SD? We enjoy a good mix of activities - snorkeling, kayaking, hiking but also love a lazy day on the beach with a good book and some cocktails . Our itinerary includes STT, STJ, Nevis, St Kitts, St Bart's, Anguilla and JVD! Any land or water adventures at these destinations that are must do's or you can highly recommended? Thanks!
