  1. I was in the same situation. I booked using my maiden and did not change my last name right away. I waited until after the trip.

Better to be safe then rely on weddings, paperwork, passports and the mail.

It is not her legal name until it is. I wouldn't risk loosing the money. Call customer service and ask if the name can be updated once the documents are in hand.

sorry 😞 I know balloons are a lot of fun. for those who have to carry around $600 one time use each epi pens and hope we don't end up in the emergency room are really happy when Mylar or other decorations can be used instead.

  3. Hi all,

For those past cruisers - do you recall seeing any balloons being used on Regal Princess? For example, Balloon Arches over entryway, balloon drops at the end of the cruise, events, parades or in the promenade?   Unfortunately customer service information is pretty disconnected about small details like this. I am digging through the images now and the weekly planners that are posted.

    Thank you so much!

What happens if you have a vinyl allergy?  Hives/rash.

I believe, based on available statistics, vinyl has a much lower incidence of people being allergic. Latex allergies however, is 1-2% of the worlds population. For myself, the allergy to latex is also airborne. If latex gloves are used the powder particles can become airborne and essentially contaminate the entire area (surfaces/food/ect). I have immediate anaphylaxis reactions which requires and epi pen. This also includes latex balloons. Lots of info online about the allergy and it's various organ reactions.

Please, use gloves made from vinyl or ensure the box says latex free. Those of us who have this allergy would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you!

  5. Clear as in vinyl? Those are a different material than latex. Please ensure whatever you use is not made from latex as many people have severe allergies to latex and using those kind you would be contaminating the food - which could cause life threatening issues.

Most ships kitchen staff use vinyl (clear) gloves for this reason.

I hope you have an enjoyable trip!

  6. Hi,

I was wondering if you noticed any balloons used for decorations or generally about. I know people use them on their doors for various reasons. Just curious of other areas they may be in. I have an airborne allergy to latex, so avoidance is best. I emailed and talked ro customer service and they assure me they don't use them. I thought I'd check with people who've actually been on the ship recently. Thanks!!

  7. Thank you everyone for your input and thoughts. It was Oasis of the sea and they had a giant balloon arch across the entrance on the buffet side (you can't see it from the hallway side). Unfortunately, with a airborne allergy going in a different door doesn't help since the allergen is airborne. AND the risk of the latex particles settling on the food, then I ingest it and have a whole other slew of allergy issues. I had to avoid that end of the ship all week. I have emailed RC to ask their process as it is blocks entrance under ADA (american disability act). I'd prefer to find a ship they don't do this on VS asking them to change their processes, and risk that they don't and I'm unable to use that end of the ship. Buffet hours and dress code is much nicer to deal with all week :-). I'll check for videos and pics online, thank you. yes, I do carry several EPI's with me everywhere. More times than not I need to use it due to a child in the grocery store with a balloon tied to their wrist.

If anyone is going, please let me know what you find!

    Thank you!!

  8. For those just off the Adventure of the seas ship, or going on could you let me know if this ship has the balloon arch across the entrance of the buffet restaurant (or in any other areas), and if they were latex or mylar? The last RC cruise we went on had one and I was unable to access the buffet the whole time due to it. My latex allergies are airborne so it’s more risky than those who are contact allergic only. I have emailed RC directly to ask but wanted to get input from those actually on the ship.

    Thanks!
