  1. I had a similar situation - got on the ship, only to find out they had put me into the Ultimate package with no free replenish to accompany it.

Called Corporate RCCl before leaving port, and had a credit to cover it within 3 hours. Quick & Courteous service to fix the problem!

Well that is the problem. I have been calling with no results. They are just saying it expired. Maybe I and the TA are calling the wrong RCL people.

  2. Basically honored it on my Thanksgiving cruise on Freedom.

When the whole debacle went down back when I booked it, I printed everything out, including the flyers my receipt etc.

Eventually I decided to call in and "find out the deal". At that point I was told they could not honor the Replenish package for free but could give me a Refresh package for free. I threatened to cancel and was thrown in a $105 OBC (being the upgrade price between Refresh and Replenish).

Boarded at Thanksgiving, no extra refresh cup in the room, no bottle of champagne. Spoke to the "bar manager" who told me the promo expired long ago, out of luck.

Decided to speak to Guest Services before getting mad. GS rep handed me a cup and a bottle of wine within 5 minutes, problem solved, everyone happy.

I hope it all works out too. I have the original flyer that states replenish and no expiration date, but when I called they keep saying it expired in August when I keep telling them that it says it has to be purchased by August. No luck over the phone and I really don't need a second cup since my wife don't drink soda but like Starbucks Coffee.

I hear to prevent future attacks from the sea, Royal Caribbean is currently installing coastal artillery to the hills surrounding Labadee. This will allow the machine-gun-toting fence guards to continue to focus on land based attacks while adding the ability to fend off boats coming in from the ocean. We should all be safer from now on.

On peaceful days you'll be able to pay $100 to fire a shell into the ocean. Just don't forget to bring extra money to tip the guy who loads the shell for you.

Wished there was a like button:D

  4. Where was the security? I'm amaze they could just come into the "private resort" without anyone stopping them.

What if guest was already on the island having some beach time and 20 or so boats suddenly appear out of nowhere? Isn't this a cause of concern?

RCL did the right thing by skipping the island.

Very good question. Today it was peaceful protest, but now with all the media exposure who knows what might happen next time a ships at port. RCL really needs to secure their private "island" better. Hate to think if few armed terrorists get any ideas.

  5. I don't think they would have accepted cash -- purchases onboard are all charged to your SeaPass account, so for the manual transactions in which they can't swipe your card at a point-of-sale terminal, they will write down your folio number (unique to each SeaPass card) on a carbonless multi-copy receipt.

I'm pretty sure only extra gratuities can be paid in cash (or can optionally be charged to the onboard account if you write it on the receipt if one exists, such as an actual drink purchase at the bar).

Thank you. I kind of thought that there weren't any cash transactions on the ships. I guess one could think of it as hidden taxes, but it would suck to find out you had to pay 18% more on things. Thanks again OP for the warning.

  6. I purchased an ultimate package back in June when they had the "buy ultimate package and get royal replenish and bottle of wine free" deal. I have heard that they have changed it to royal refreshment or even not honoring the deal. I guess I will find out in March. Good thing I have everything printed out just in case.
