We probably won’t book until masks and testing are not required anywhere in the trip and cruise. We are not opposed to these requirements during this time when they are needed. We just don’t want more inconvenience that we have to pay for!  But we hope that some form of Covid vaccination status is required far into the future. We have been fully vaccinated plus two boosters. We will get further boosters in accord with CDC recommendations, and wouldn’t book a cruise that did not require all aboard to be fully vaccinated in accord with recommendations in effect at time of sailing.

what about natural immunity? would you be accepting of those with a current test that show they have good immunity?

Unfortunately, we won't be cruising until all this covid hoopla is done with. We have family members unvaccinated that are no longer welcomed even on local cruises. Yet we can fly on a plane within our own country.   The inconsistencies from the start have been ludicrous.  I also don't trust the numbers on this poll.  We had a cruise pre booked thinking it will all be over and done with by now that we have cancelled. I am sure quite a few people who took this survey would have been in the same boat excuse the pun, as we were. Obviously, cruisers want to travel! but when we are discriminated against, we would sooner spend our hard earned money on land travel that isn't discriminatory.

Right on!  we are unvaxxed and have natural immunity.  We have decided to try and go with all inclusive resorts. Our kids say they are great and offer what the ships do.   So untill jab mandates are gone we are not sailing!!!

So far this has been a great cruise at a wonderful price.  I was apprehensive after reading a lot of criticism about embarkation in New Orleans.  However we walked 4 blocks to the terminal about 9 am and dropped off our 1 large bag.  I would echo that there weren’t any signs.  We did a reconnaissance mission the night before and someone working near the Port told us the exact place to go ( drop luggage right before the rr tracks and then go across the tracks and turn right into the terminal).  Inside the terminal we waited about 15 minutes in a small area where we received a Boarding Group 1 pass as we passed through and on our way through security.  After security is where our passports were checked, our picture taken and our sea pass card was given to us.  We then went to a large waiting room where we were held about 1 hour and a half.  There is a separate waiting area for the Haven which we didn’t get.  Then all Group 1 were called (after the Haven and those folks in wheelchairs etc).  We hustled to Headliners  where I expected to purchase Vibe passes but of course this cruise did it from a desk at Guest Services.  We were handed tickets numbered 23 and 24 as we stood in line .  Yea!! Paid $318 for a 10 day pass!  After that we purchased the 8 bottles of the cheapest wine and they gave us 8 slips of paper which we will use when we want our wine. So far:  everything is clean and all personnel are helpful.  Buffet was great for dinner with prime rib.  Our room is tiny with a small amount of adequate storage.  No noise from above (we are directly below the Garden Buffet).  However I am able to hear voices and clothes on hangers being moved next door. No matter I used my earplugs. All public and private rooms are clean and we haven’t yet encountered any huge crowds other than right after the lifeboat drill.  We are again going to the buffet for seafood night as Taste and Savor didn’t have anything we particularly wanted for dinner.  Then going to try the Comedy show.  If anyone has questions I will try answer.

thx so much for all the info   we are all following along  excitedly  i copied and pasted this in my notes 🙂

Hi! We received email from NCL this week telling us to check in and register our CC for our next cruise (Nov 12th) - this is the first time we're being asked to enter our CC during the check in. So this is the new thing.

Yes, I agree that the OP can remedy by removing the CC on their kids' account - but at Guest Services after boarding.

duhhhh,     what does OP stand for?

It is dangerous to give your debit cart. You are basically exposing all your funds (debit is your funds, credit is bank’s for which bank will fight)

Good advice,   I never use debit card for that reason   always use credit they will stand behind you if you are a victim of fraud.  I never pay interest either always pay balance end of month , and get all the perks that come with the card I am using at that time

Maybe less hassle, but you lose a lot of the value that way. When booking travel through Chase, you get 1.5 times the value of your points, while when trading points in for cash, it's just 1 to 1.

hmmmm, not sure i understand,  what i do is transfer $s earned to my checking and always use my NCL card to pay for all cruise stuff, so i continue to earn pts,   the money I have put into my bank acct is used later to pay the card, so how is this different, I have to admit Math duhhhh is not my cup of tea :classic_huh:

  7. I am curious if I bought a thermal pass online and found out later that I got the Spa Haven suite ( we bid on that one and a few others)  which includes the thermal pass, would I be able to cancel the pass and get a refund?  We are in a BA 13th floor and are happy with that if we don't get a up-bid but would like the thermal (or the Vibe) , which is really gambling for that one, it sounds like.    We have been to most ports and plan on spending most time on ship, and think this would be great for us but don't want to pay double for it.   I saw that you have to purchase 4 days prior to sailing, yet you might not know if your bid is accepted up to days before sailing, so am in a quandary what to do?   Any help would be appreciated.  thanks

My son is getting the ship's unlimited wifi package. Verizon told me that the way to tell for sure that we are far enough from the ship to be on their plan is when his wifi drops. Are you doing the travel pass for $10 a day? Or maybe if you are just checking in regular charges would be better. We signed up the whole family for Travelpass. I like it that you are only charged the $10 if you use it

I did that last year and picked a couple days in the 14 day trip to use it and told everyone to contact me on those days or visa versa that id contact them - rest of time I shut down phone  figured if there was an emergency they could contact us thru the ship
