  1. So I thought I would provide an update for anyone who had this same question or was considering this excursion.  We were on the July 28 to Aug 4 sailing of the Oasis. We booked the excursion to the Baha Mar Resort through RCL. We paid 125 per person. That included r/t transportation and a lunch.  It was a late port arrival in Nassau of 1:30pm. We had to meet in Studio B at 12:45 for the excursion. That was all very organized by the RCL excursion folks. They even gave everyone the opportunity to cancel their various excursions because of the threat of thunderstorms. (It never rained).  We were finally led off the boat at about 1:30 to meet the Baha Mar representatives on the dock next to the ship.  Our group of about 100-150 people were lined up and then signed waivers, given wristbands and food vouchers. This process took another 30 minutes or so.  There was no real expedited process by the Baha Mar folks even though the water park was closing at 6pm.  We were then paraded through the port and finally made it to the awaiting vans for transportation to the Resort. 29 People per van, no more no less.  Once we were loaded on the vans we left for the resort.  Traffic at that time around downtown was bad.  It took about 25-30 minutes to arrive at the Resort. Once we were there we went right in and immediately enjoyed the Water Park. We were told to be back at the vans no later than 6:15. It was beautiful, clean and not crowded. The only complaints were the short amount of time we could spend there (2:30 to 6), not being told that the food huts were only open until 5 and there being a sewer smell on one part of the lazy river (on one trip around). The beach was nothing special either.  We boarded the buses at 6 and were back to the port by 6:15 (no traffic this time).

TL;DR- Baha Mar was awesome but the short time and lack of motivation by the Baha Mar staff to get us there quickly was frustrating.

  3. I posted this in Bahamas Port of Call as well. Please pardon the double posting, but maybe someone in the RCL forum has more specific info.......Has anyone had experience with the Baha Mar excursion from Oasis? Docking time is 1:30. Excursion states leave time of 2pm and duration of 6 hours. Water park closes at 6. Ship leaves at 8pm. I am looking for anyone's experience with the timing and logistics of this excursion. What time do you actually get to the resort and what time does the shuttle return?  Maybe non-RCL excursions experiences would be helpful as well. Thanks!

  5. Really enjoying your review. We just booked for August for a group.  We are going to be on Deck 6 by room 6300  Any chance you could let us know if there is much noise in that hallway coming from Playmakers? We are hoping that sound doesn't drift into those balcony rooms at night. No one has been able to give us a good answer so far.  I know you are almost at the end of your cruise. Looks amazing!!!!

  6. For what it's worth, we are specifically going on this ship in August because of the upgrades. We are booked in the new balconies on 12. We were on Freedom last August and really liked the ship. However, no one wanted to go on the exact same thing again.

I actually think the location of the new slides is a good idea. They will be up near the flow rider at the back of the ship in an area that is not already too crowded.

I love these boards because they really show you how many opinions are out there. I have been able to make informed decisions about my vacations and enhanced my enjoyment dramatically.

  7. We were on Freedom to these ports in August. We have been to Grand Cayman and Cozumel a few times also.

Here is a tip for Falmouth...you can go to an all inclusive for the day and pay a per person day rate for full use of their property including food, drinks, pool and beach. We went to Riu where the price was about $90/adult and $45 per kid. If you are a good negotiator, you may be able to do a little better. It is about a 20 minute van ride from the ship

When you get off the boat, look for a taxi/van to take you there. Be firm and do not (whatever you do) allow them to convince you to go on any type of island tour. They may combine your group with others, but be firm that you only want to go to one place. They will also agree to pick you up at the end of the day. Give yourself enough time to get back to the port as there can be traffic. If the boat leaves at 5 then get picked up at the Riu no later than 3. The driver should give you his cell phone number to call.

The beaches are nice except for a bit of seagrass when were there. Overall, we had a great time and used the gigantic pool and enjoyed the all you can eat food and drink.
