We are hoping to book in the Summer if things have stabilized. We don't have our fingers on the pulse of where prices are at but always look for sailings that are around $100/day or better and that is kind of our marker for decided where to buy.
Any promotions beyond that are usually just gravy.

Got excited and bought CCL for 100 at $21 and another 50 at $19...
Then bought 100 of both Norwegian and Royal Caribbean last week.
Hope this industry bounces back...

Integrity move by Princess.
We bought a bunch of stock yesterday and hope things will rebound this summer.

I just have to ask, why 43 shares? Thats a pretty odd number.
Thats how much I had left in that account after buying the first hundred. I wasn't sure where I was going to pull the trigger

Bought in today at 21.41 x 100. Have an order for another 43 if it goes beneath $20/share.
We're in it for the long haul. I am mid-30s and my wife is in 20s so we plan on making use of the OBC for a long, long time, god willing.

We were on the Ruby with you. Enjoyed Colours of the World, left after a few minutes of the comedian's show, seemed pretty week. Highlight of the trip was the double rainbow spotted in the evening.

Unfortunately it looks like these will be mostly indoor cruises, as the forecast is cool and rainy all weekend. ☹️

Rain just started up in Vancouver a couple of hours ago, after such a beautiful couple of weeks.

We'll be joining you in Seattle and then will pick up the Ruby in Vancouver on the 19th. :D
We'll be waving to you as we get off the Ruby. We'll clean up after ourselves, we promise.

Reading up with lots of interest. Have the back to back Easter Voyager and Southern Medley in January and don't want to waste stops like I did in Bonaire on our last one. We got off the ship to look around, got about a block away from the ship and came right back...
-
I also think it looks tacky. I hope they don't go in that direction for other new ships.
-
I hope it is acceptable, because I'll be wearing one every formal night this January.
-
I keep all my cruise cards in my wallet. I've only been on two cruises with Princess but I'll take them out and show them to anyone I start talking cruises with.
-
Our experience has been that you could not book the Sanctuary or Specialty restaurants for the second leg, until the first day of the second leg. However, since you are still on the ship before the new passengers get on, you are pretty much first in line for everything with the other B2B passengers.
At the beauty salon, they accepted appointments for the second leg on the last day of the first leg.
Good to know, thanks

I appreciate this topic as this has been what has been on my mind for awhile now in regards to our honeymoon cruise in January.
For a special occasion, there are a few things that I want to book right off the skip and not miss out on, since we'll be on the ship for 20 days.
First question, it is a back to back, can I book things for the second half as soon as we get on?
Second, I will post my list so far, but is there anything I am missing that I need to get on right away? The list:
1) Ultimate Ship's tour.
2) Balcony dinner
3) Sanctuary (one sea day for both of us)
4) Enclave for the trip (for her)
5) Specialty dinner res (one each half of the trip)

Wow, I did not realize how busy we were on Sailaway day.
- This is also usually when I notice that the voice mail light on the telephone is flashing. It's just a message from the hotel manager welcoming me on board. I feel so special that he takes time out of his busy schedule just to welcome me so warmly.
You must be a VIP, that is quite an honour.

Never met him myself but he sounds like a good man

Thanks for the review.
Seems like they were banking on everyone getting worn out during the day because that patter is a snoozer after 9PM

That's disappointing. When I look ahead and see Cruise Atlas as a perk of a higher level Captain's Circle, I thought it was more than just a big brochure.
I pick those books up from my travel agent every so often :(
-
That being said, I hope no one ever opens their door and catches me reading their name from the sign.

I'm a newbie to cruising but I like the nametags. I feel like it builds community on such large ships; that people are not just other faces in the crowd.
-
Great pics, love the golden oldies out of Vancouver.
Those ships look like they could go to war.

I'm fairly new to this site but I've notice that the Island Princess is the red-headed stepchild of Princess's fleet...

From his Facebook groups:
It is with great pleasure that i have to announce to everybody that i have been asked to be the resident entertainer on the Crystal Serenity World Cruise starting January 11th Jan 11 to April 15, 2017and then returning to Crystal Serenity June 19 to Sept 16, 2017. This is the No 1 cruise line and Cruise ship in the world and it is a great honor to be picked for this . This sadly means i will be leaving the Royal Princess one month earlier than planned on Jan 9th 2017 NOT feb 8th . I only just confirmation today about this . i know many people have booked on Princess but this is an opportunity that i cannot let go and truly a wonderful opportunity for me ..plus i absolutely love it here at Crystal . I will be on the Royal Princess from Nov 6th to Jan 9th 2017. Sorry but it does give people over 6 months warning of the change .

He posted on his facebook a day or two ago about Crystal inviting him back onto the Serenity for a world cruise starting on Jan 10th and he took it.
From what I have read, he will be disembarking the Royal Princess before its January 9th pickup. Which is awful, because one of the main draws of us booking our honeymoon for a 20 day B2B on January 9th. We both love him.
But I can't blame him. After the year he has had, we wish him all the best.

Chased it all the way down...
100 shares at 21.39
43 shares at 19.50
7 shares at 12.47
50 shares at 8.11
Averaged at 17.35? Not amazing, but better than just 21.39
