  1. I am staying in the cabin 2 below yours. Can you look down and see everything on the decks below? I hear nothing but no privacy in the extended aft bal. I am just curious about how no privacy. Thanks!

I'll look through my pics and see if I took any looking down. I could see people on their balconies below mine if they were standing at or leaning on their railing. Couldn't see anyone if they were sitting.

There are small refrigerators in the rooms but they were not very cold. We found that if we left the cabinet door open the frig cooled a little better.

There are hairdryers in the rooms, I found it to be fine but I've heard many complaints about them not being powerful enough.

We got to the port at 1:45 and it took an hour to get on board. Very long lines but they moved fairly quickly, I would get to port earlier if I were doing it again.

The late night comedy shows are worth staying up for, and some of our friends went to one of them where the audience was teamed up against each other and had a blast.

We had late dining and next time we will try your time dining, we skipped a couple dining room meals to get to shows.

I'll post more as I think of it. We were on the Feb 21st sailing, awesome weather, we were sunbathing on the Lido Aft deck by noon on the 22nd!!

  2. Yes, we did, we saw 3 of the shows. The juggler, VROOM, and Consuela Ivy. We enjoyed all of them, the juggler was amazing!

The weather was great and we did the Cheers program.

I've never been on another Cruise Line so I can't compare, I've been on 5 Carnival cruises, this one and the Dream were my favorites. Lots of fun, and friendly people, even if some of them were Yankee fans ;)

  3. My Husband and I are just off the Splendor, we had a blast! When I was booking this cruise I wanted to see better pictures of the "bat cave" so I took some while I was there and thought I'd post them for others who might be considering this space.

The benefits of this room was some extra privacy and shelter, we were able to sit outside during a thunderstorm at sea and watch the lightening. That was cool. We could only see our neighbors right next to us and they were really nice.

The biggest disadvantage was that the bulkheads blocked the side view so no panorama view :(

We had great weather and met lots of fun people, the décor didn't bother us a bit and my only complaint was the behavior of people in buffet lines, i.e. picking ears and scratching heads!! Gross!

  4. Hi,

My husband and I are using Alliance Parking 500w 43rd st. next week. The total is $152 for a regular sized car parking for 8 days. Mini vans and large SUVs are $7 more per day. If you arrive at 11am you need to get your car by 11am last day or pay hourly fee after that.

We plan to drop off our checked luggage at the pier and then one of us will park the car. I can let you know how that goes when I return.

We returned on Saturday and Alliance Parking worked well for us. At the start of the cruise my husband dropped me and our bags at the port and parked the car, he walked a few blocks to the port .4 miles. When we left the ship on Saturday we walked with our luggage back to the car. I wouldn't recommend the return walk with two bags each but we were looking to burn some calories after an incredibly fun time on the boat! :)
