  1. Just off the liberty.

The drink card appeared on day 6 of a 9 day cruise. $67 for 10 drinks.

Imo it's a good deal if you can split it with someone.

On day 8, there was a notice in the compass that they would have 1-day packages on day 9 (the last sea day), but when I asked about that, I was told they weren't honoring it.

  2. Royal Caribbean has a special website you can go to and they will upgrade you from your interior cabin to a grand suite or better...And its available to Emerald members! Very cool.

Unfortunately, you have to find the website yourself, if you cheat, then they won't give you the upgrade.

  3. As I recall, the fee was 7.95, but that is likely inaccurate/outdated.

There is no limit to the number of items you can order. As much as you want, anything on the menu... except the milkshakes because "reasons."

You are correct, breakfast is free, but to be clear for everyone, the oasis and allure are the only ships that do breakfast at Jrox.

The food is very meh. Its substantially better than the cafe on the promenade with the cold no-bread sandwiches and the bad pizza... It's on par with the rest of the ships offerings. Some ships do BBQ on the pool deck with some regularity, and THAT is a much better experience. Room service offers a free hamburger which is, in my opinion just as good.

  4. No one wants your sympathy but how about a little empathy for those Americans who don't have short memories.

Holding onto the cold war like a security blanket isn't about the length of one's memory, its about American exceptionalism, jingoism and perpetuating bigotry and it is a flawed theme in a lot of American's belief systems. I never found frank burns to be the kind of character that you should, or would empathize with, and I don't think I ever will.

There have been several Cuba threads over the last few months. It always amuses me how those that want to go feel the need to poke at those that say they won't or don't want to go to Cuba.

This thread wasn't derailed by someone who said they wouldn't go. I said I wouldn't go also. What they said was "I would never go to any communist or socialist country" which is both a foolish attitude and an impractical one. I'm not surprised that comment got the temperature to rise. It would be like refusing to come to America because of our education system. It's a little silly.

  5. We enjoy Nassau have been 3x, (2 days in port once) and still haven't done all the things we want to do there.

Coco Cay's ok but, it's too laid back. I agree with the OP food brought to you! Now I like that idea.. :)

I agree. 2 days in Nassau, means a full day at Atlantis(perhaps a full night? hmm?) and something else.

Cocoa cay might be nice(haven't been) but Nassau is a marvelous consolation prize imo.

  6. I wouldn't be surprised, but this will be the progression:

    1) RCCL buys 2-6 more private Isl. / Private ports

    2) RCCL starts offering "exclusive" itineraries that go to these private ports which all offer unlimited food/drink (they might charge a fee per day)

    3) RCCL will build a ship bigger than the oasis class ships.

    4) Slowly, RCCL will reduce the number of non-affiliated ports that any itinerary visits down to one or two.

You'll note that 4 will be the justification for doing 1, 2, and 3.

  7. so many people have the "it's my cruise I will wear what I want bad attitude"

So it does not really matter. They are and never were going to wear jacket and tie.. It is so dependent on the dining room staff to "police" the dress code. we have all seen countless people in shorts on formal night.

Personally Ii just avoid the MDR as much as possible. But If I do go on a formal night, I always dress as suggested.

Sounds to me like YOU are the one with the bad attitude. Oh, how dare those, those, peasants dine in my presence wearing, oh, I can barely say it "SHORTS!"

They should be throttled. It's like they think Royal Caribbean is providing them with a service in exchange for money or something. Ridiculous. Dress as I command peasants.

  8. Atlantis is right near the ship terminal (close enough to walk to).

As I recall, there is usually a relatively cheap package that includes snorkeling, access to the main resort and the tour of the aquariums. I might look into that, since you won't be able to really enjoy the water park in 3hrs.

  9. Thoughts?

The liberty will be getting brand new water slides in Feb. First in the fleet.

The allure has Freestyle machines (the liberty might get them in Feb, no promises)

The allure obviously has more restaurants and the water show. I like Saamba.

I think the inside promenades are nicer than the oceanveiws and would take one if they were close in price. I wouldn't spend more than about $60 for the upgrade.

The Allure has the central park area, the boardwalk area, and the solarium, which the liberty does not. It is a very nice ship for any age bracket. The liberty does have a promenade, but it's a lot more "rest-of-the-fleet-ish" compared with the allure.

Its good that you have a friend in Houston, because transportation to the ship is sometimes an issue for people(its about an $85 cab ride)

The Oasis class ships rarely feel full (except during embark/de-embark/shows etc.) It won't be any more of a ZOO than the liberty. If anything, the liberty will probably be more "spring break central" (in every sense of the word.)

  10. The Liberty will be just out of drydock so hopefully it will get a bunch of goodies (they are getting water slides).

IMO you can't really compare the two. How old is your daughter? If she's under 30 or she has kids then I can definitely see why she'd prefer to sail the liberty and the Caribbean.

  11. I am so tired of reading about

    1. bad service

    2.service

    3. food

    4. all the little things that irk them

I would like to know how to EM Adam Goldstien & tell him how a SATISFIED custormer feel about RCL

    george35

Welp... Its easy to stop the complaints before they start. Can't really blame the person receiving the bad service for then proceeding to complain about it.

  12.

You can even see when he puts his hand on the side of the metal davit, his head is pulling away from the people helping him, like he is trying to get away from them!

I think this video will be a savior for RCCL to prove that this man wanted to go overboard despite people trying to save him!

Or it will prove that he was out of his mind with anger and humiliation and would rather kill himself than be "saved" by the men who put him on that davit in the first place.

Don't believe that, merely pointing out that that behavior fits either narrative.

  13. If you feel that way, don't sail on Royal. Easy.

When you say "keep seeing them" - what frequency are you talking about? Once a week, once a month, once a year? And compare that with the number of cruises there are.

Every 20 minutes!!!! (for the past day and a half)

I read a report that called the person that went overboard on Oasis a jumper. I don't know about the others. No mention of alcohol playing a role in this one.

    The guy was not sober.
